Cargo barge
A low-poly Venetian-style canal cargo barge on a patch of still canal water. It has a terracotta hull with a raised bow, an open cargo well stacked with crates, sacks and barrels, a small wheelhouse aft, and a mast whose derrick boom swings a slung crate out over the side in a seamless 6 s loop.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Cargo barge for the Canal City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Canal City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A trading city of bridges and palaces. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: terracotta #be5937, canal green #3a883a, stone white #f4f1ec, carnival gold #d0a225, terracotta dark #823d26, canal green dark #235223, terracotta light #d08971, canal green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: an 11 m hull with a 2.8 m beam and 0.55 m midship freeboard (the sheer rises 0.42 m to the bow). The deck is about 1.2 m above the canal surface at the bow and the mast stands 3.4 m above the deck. The model is 4.83 m tall overall at the default water level. The barge floats on a still 5.4 m × 13.4 m rounded patch of canal water that rests on y = 0 (origin at its bottom centre, bow toward +Z). If you place it in an existing canal tile, hide the `.water` part and line up the waterline. waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') sets the water surface from 0.45 m to 0.85 m (0.65 m at the default), and the whole barge floats with it. This range is higher than the quay tile's 0.15–0.75 m because the hull is modelled to a 0.35 m draft and must stay above the patch floor. hullLength stretches the hull from 9 to 13 m, and the water patch grows with it. cargo sets how many of 12 well slots hold crates, barrels or sacks. derrickSwing scales the boom's swing in the loop. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Animation: one seamless 6 s clip ('scene-motion'). The hull heaves ±2 cm and pitches and rolls under 1° about its waterline centre. The derrick boom swivels ±46° about the mast axis at its gooseneck collar, swinging the slung crate out over each side and back over the well. The crate sways from the boom tip, and the tiller turns the rudder ±18° about its stock. The water patch never moves. The GLB's static node pose is the t = 2 s pose, because three-check exports after its determinism seek. The GLB has 2,684 triangles in 34 meshes (merged per part and colour); three-check's 2.8k figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. glb-lint reports 0 errors and only heuristic warnings: material count and duplicate same-colour materials (per-mesh copies), non-indexed flat-shaded primitives, nested part boxes overlapping, and height compared with the direction's 1 m reference. plan-check rejects the hyphenated slug part ids the library mandates. A copy with the ids de-hyphenated passes, and three-check accepts the hyphenated ids (all 9 survive the GLB reload).
About the Cargo barge 3D model
Cargo barge is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Canal City set. It measures 5.4 m × 4.8 m × 13 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,684 triangles across 34 meshes, with 9 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 308 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Cargo barge 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 308 KB: 2,684 triangles, 8,052 vertices and 34 materials, modelled in metres at 5.4 m × 4.8 m × 13 m.
- Is Cargo barge animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Cargo barge 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
