Arched bridges
A low-poly Venetian stepped footbridge: a terracotta brick segmental arch with a white Istrian-stone ring and gold keystone, grey steps with white nosings over the hump, stone balustrades and twin gold lanterns at the crown. It is a modular Canal City piece that snaps to the quays on a 1 m grid.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Arched bridges for the Canal City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. This is one part of the Canal City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A trading city of bridges and palaces. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: terracotta #be5937, canal green #3a883a, stone white #f4f1ec, carnival gold #d0a225, terracotta dark #823d26, canal green dark #235223, terracotta light #d08971, canal green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the default params: 12 m long (X), 3.94 m deep (Z) across the keystones (3.6 m across the masonry, with a 3.0 m clear deck), 4.05 m to the crown landing and 7.14 m to the lantern finials. The arch spans 8.4 m between 1.8 m abutments. It springs at 0.9 m above the base, and the soffit crown is at 2.8 m. Both end landings sit at quay height, 1.5 m, and 15 steps of 0.17 m climb each side. Snapping: the bridge runs along +X from its snapping end at x = 0 to x = length, which is always whole metres, so it lands on the kit's 1 m grid. The origin is at the snapping end (x = 0, centred across the depth, y = 0 at the foot of the abutments). This replaces the library's usual bottom-centre origin, because the brief asks for an end origin on modular pieces. Both end faces are flat and flush, so the landings butt against quay pieces. The arch faces +Z and the canal runs along Z under it. The model has no water, quay or ground: those belong to other kit parts. The GLB has 7,308 triangles in 13 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed), so the facets survive in any engine. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour (8 of the 12 are used). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. There is no text and no signage. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') raises the green weed band on the abutment faces and inner walls from 0.15 m to 0.8 m, always below the springing line. It does not add water. length (10–16 m) widens the arch span. deckWidth (2.4–4.4 m) sets the clear width between the parapets. archRise (1.5–2.6 m) raises the arch, and the deck, steps and parapets follow it. Both extreme combinations were checked with three-check: the worst case (16 m long, rise 1.5) is about 9.3k triangles, within the 10k budget. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicate materials (from the per-mesh materials), unindexed geometry (flat shading on purpose), sibling overlap (the keystone sits on the ring, and nosings on the treads), detached parts (the string course, balustrade and tide band are embedded 2 cm into the masonry on purpose, not floating), and scale (compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 9 survive the GLB reload.
About the Arched bridges 3D model
Arched bridges is a free low-poly 3D model from the Canal City set. It measures 12 m × 7.1 m × 3.9 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 7,308 triangles across 13 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 525 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Arched bridges 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 525 KB: 7,308 triangles, 21,924 vertices and 13 materials, modelled in metres at 12 m × 7.1 m × 3.9 m.
- Can I animate Arched bridges?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Arched bridges 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
