Tipping water spout

A low-poly Japanese shishi-odoshi for the Bamboo Forest kit: a slant-cut bamboo rocker on an axle between two bamboo posts, fed by a bamboo supply pipe. In a seamless 6 s loop it fills, tips to pour into a stone basin, and swings back to knock its striking stone.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tipping water spout for the Bamboo Forest kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Bamboo Forest kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall stalks, mist and stone paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: bamboo green #3a883a, mist grey #adadad, stone #9c958b, red accent #c32222, bamboo green dark #235223, mist grey dark #878787, bamboo green light #5db15d, mist grey light #d4d4d4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mistDensity` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mist density" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.13 m tall to the supply post top. The footprint is about 1.3 × 1.0 m (the pebble bed), and the rocker tube is 0.70 m long × 9 cm across, with its axle 0.43 m above the ground. The bottom rests on y = 0, the origin is at the bottom centre, and the front faces +Z: the rocker is seen in profile from the front. The GLB has 1,712 triangles in 26 meshes and one 6 s looping clip, 'scene-motion'. Only two nodes really move in it. 'rocker' rotates about Z at its node origin, which sits exactly on the axle. 'stream_tail' slides down inside the stream so the water follows the mouth into the basin. The clip also carries constant tracks for the static nodes. The static node pose in the GLB is the t = 2 s frame (rest, filling). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12; warm white is unused). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names repeat: recolour by name. Water and mist are opaque faceted geometry, not transparent. mistDensity (the kit "Mist density" setting) controls how many low mist drifts (0 to 7) lie round the pebble bed and how tall they are; at 0 the mist meshes are left out. rockAngle, tubeReach and basinSize reshape the rocker, its axle height, the striking stone and the supply height together. The params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors, plus 5 expected warnings (26 per-mesh materials against the direction's default of 10, duplicate per-mesh materials, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, overlapping boxes such as the water inside the basin, and 'stream_tail' flagged as detached because it hides inside the stream at rest). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes.

About the Tipping water spout 3D model

Tipping water spout is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Bamboo Forest set. It measures 1.6 m × 1.1 m × 1.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,712 triangles across 26 meshes, with 22 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 178 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tipping water spout 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 178 KB: 1,712 triangles, 5,136 vertices and 26 materials, modelled in metres at 1.6 m × 1.1 m × 1.1 m.
Is Tipping water spout animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tipping water spout 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
