Stone lanterns
A low-poly pair of Japanese stone lanterns for the Bamboo Forest kit: a tall hexagonal kasuga-dōrō on a post and a squat three-legged yukimi-dōrō with a wide roof, both with glowing fireboxes, moss and pebbles at their feet and low ground mist.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Stone lanterns for the Bamboo Forest kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Bamboo Forest kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall stalks, mist and stone paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: bamboo green #3a883a, mist grey #adadad, stone #9c958b, red accent #c32222, bamboo green dark #235223, mist grey dark #878787, bamboo green light #5db15d, mist grey light #d4d4d4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mistDensity` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mist density" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the tall kasuga lantern is 1.85 m to the finial tip (0.68 m hexagonal base, 0.92 m roof across the corners); the yukimi snow-viewing lantern is about 1.13 m tall with a 1.12 m roof across the corners. The pair occupies about 1.7 × 1.2 m; at the default mistDensity the mist banks widen the footprint to 2.3 × 1.8 m. The bottom rests on y = 0, the origin is at the bottom centre and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 2,184 triangles in 14 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (7 of the 12; bamboo green light, red accent, soot black, dark wood and mist grey are unused). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names appear more than once; recolour by name. The warm white firebox material carries an emissive factor so the fireboxes read as lit; the mist material is alpha-blended (opacity 0.55). mistDensity (the kit "Mist density") sets how many low translucent mist banks drift round the lantern feet (0 to 7, front kept mostly clear) and how high they rise; at 0 the mist mesh is omitted. postHeight, roofWidth and snowLantern (1 = include the yukimi lantern, 0 = tall lantern only) reshape the pair. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors, 4 expected warnings (14 per-mesh materials over the direction's 10, duplicate per-mesh materials, intentionally non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested boxes such as firebox cores inside their frames). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 14 ids.
About the Stone lanterns 3D model
Stone lanterns is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bamboo Forest set. It measures 2.3 m × 1.9 m × 1.8 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,184 triangles across 14 meshes, with 14 named parts. Download the 167 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Stone lanterns 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 167 KB: 2,184 triangles, 6,552 vertices and 14 materials, modelled in metres at 2.3 m × 1.9 m × 1.8 m.
- Can I animate Stone lanterns?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 14 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Stone lanterns 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
