Wind chimes

A low-poly bamboo wind-chime stand for the Bamboo Forest kit: two bamboo posts on stone footings carry a lashed crossbar, and a ring of six bamboo chime tubes hangs below it with a red striker and a red paper wind sail.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Wind chimes for the Bamboo Forest kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Bamboo Forest kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall stalks, mist and stone paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: bamboo green #3a883a, mist grey #adadad, stone #9c958b, red accent #c32222, bamboo green dark #235223, mist grey dark #878787, bamboo green light #5db15d, mist grey light #d4d4d4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mistDensity` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mist density" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the stand is 1.8 m tall, with the crossbar 1.16 m across and the footings 0.84 m apart on centres. The chime is 0.40 m across the suspension disc. Its tubes are 0.36–0.70 m long and 6.4 cm in diameter, and the sail hangs down to about 0.35 m above the ground. Without mist the footprint is 1.16 × 0.26 m. The bottom rests on y = 0, the origin is at the bottom centre and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 1,916 triangles in 15 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (8 of the 12; mist grey, mist grey dark, mid grey and warm white are unused). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names appear more than once; recolour by name. The mist material is alpha-blended (opacity 0.55). mistDensity (the kit "Mist density") sets how many low translucent mist banks pool round the two footings (0–6) and how high they rise; at 0 the mist mesh is omitted. frameHeight, tubeCount and tubeLength reshape the stand and chime. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 expected warnings: per-mesh materials, flat-shaded geometry that is intentionally non-indexed, and nested boxes such as the bamboo bores inside the tubes and the cords through the striker. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 10 ids.

About the Wind chimes 3D model

Wind chimes is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bamboo Forest set. It measures 1.9 m × 1.8 m × 85 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,916 triangles across 15 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 148 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Wind chimes 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 148 KB: 1,916 triangles, 5,748 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 1.9 m × 1.8 m × 85 cm.
Can I animate Wind chimes?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Wind chimes 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
