Water spout

A low-poly Japanese bamboo water spout (kakei and tsukubai) for the Bamboo Forest kit. A jointed bamboo pipe on a crossed-stake rest pours a thin stream into an octagonal stone basin, with a wooden ladle on the rim and stones on a pebble bed.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Water spout for the Bamboo Forest kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Bamboo Forest kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall stalks, mist and stone paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: bamboo green #3a883a, mist grey #adadad, stone #9c958b, red accent #c32222, bamboo green dark #235223, mist grey dark #878787, bamboo green light #5db15d, mist grey light #d4d4d4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mistDensity` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mist density" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.01 m tall to the post top. The pebble bed is about 1.8 × 1.4 m, the basin is 0.64 m across and 0.40 m tall, and the pipe reaches 0.78 m. With the default mist, the footprint is 1.96 × 1.57 m. The bottom rests on y = 0, the origin is at the bottom centre and the front (front stone and pipe in side profile) faces +Z. The GLB has 1,512 triangles in 22 meshes, is static and has no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12; warm white is unused). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names repeat: recolour by name. Water and mist are opaque faceted geometry, not transparent or volumetric. mistDensity (the kit "Mist density" setting) controls how many low mist banks (0 to 7) gather round the pebble bed and how tall they are; at 0 the mist meshes are left out. pipeReach, postHeight and basinSize reshape the spout. The params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors, plus 4 expected warnings (22 per-mesh materials exceed the direction default of 10, though only 11 distinct names are used; duplicate per-mesh materials; non-indexed flat-shaded geometry; overlapping boxes such as the water inside the basin and the mist round the pebble bed). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 21 ids.

About the Water spout 3D model

Water spout is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bamboo Forest set. It measures 2.0 m × 1.0 m × 1.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,512 triangles across 22 meshes, with 21 named parts. Download the 127 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Water spout 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 127 KB: 1,512 triangles, 4,536 vertices and 22 materials, modelled in metres at 2.0 m × 1.0 m × 1.6 m.
Can I animate Water spout?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 21 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Water spout 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
