Tea pavilion

A low-poly open tea pavilion for the Bamboo Forest kit. A raised dark-wood deck on stone footings carries a concave cypress-bark hip roof with a red finial, red lacquered lintels, a bamboo railing, half-lowered bamboo blinds, and tatami with a low tea table, kettle and red cushions.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tea pavilion for the Bamboo Forest kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Bamboo Forest kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall stalks, mist and stone paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: bamboo green #3a883a, mist grey #adadad, stone #9c958b, red accent #c32222, bamboo green dark #235223, mist grey dark #878787, bamboo green light #5db15d, mist grey light #d4d4d4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mistDensity` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mist density" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the deck is 3.6 × 3.6 m and stands 0.45 m above the ground on stone footings. Posts rise 2.3 m above the deck. The roof eaves span about 5.4 × 5.4 m, the ridge peak is at about 4.4 m and the red finial tops out at 4.96 m. The overall footprint is 5.46 × 5.46 m. The origin is at the bottom centre, the model rests on y = 0 and the open front with the stone steps faces +Z. The GLB has 3,912 triangles in 27 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip; three-check's triangle figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12 are used; mid grey is not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. mistDensity (the kit's 'Mist density') sets how many low mist banks pool around the footings and how thick they are: 0 removes them, 1 gives about 16 banks up to about 0.16 m high. The banks are opaque low-poly shapes in mist grey, so delete the .mist part if your engine supplies its own fog. deckWidth scales the deck, posts, railing and roof together; postHeight sets the eave height; roofRise sets the roof's height; blindDrop lowers the back and left bamboo blinds from 0.35 m to 1.35 m. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked (the worst case stays well under 10,000 triangles). The green disc in the preview is viewer staging and is not in the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 expected warnings: duplicate same-named materials from the per-mesh export, the direction's 10-material guideline (the same per-mesh export), non-indexed geometry (deliberate hard flat-shaded facets), nested sibling boxes (trim on posts and the deck), and a 4.96 m height against the direction's 1 m reference height. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 11 ids. Fix rounds: (1) the grey tile roof rendered almost white, so it became a dark-wood bark roof with grey hip caps, and the tatami became pale green; (2) the mist banks were made smaller, lower and greyer; (3) the kettle and cups were seated 5 mm into the tabletop.

About the Tea pavilion 3D model

Tea pavilion is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bamboo Forest set. It measures 5.5 m × 5.0 m × 5.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,912 triangles across 27 meshes, with 11 named parts. Download the 299 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tea pavilion 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 299 KB: 3,912 triangles, 11,736 vertices and 27 materials, modelled in metres at 5.5 m × 5.0 m × 5.5 m.
Can I animate Tea pavilion?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 11 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tea pavilion 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
