Bamboo groves

A low-poly stand of tall bamboo for the Bamboo Forest kit. Three clumps of jointed culms with dark node rings and feathery leaf sprays rise from a leaf-litter mound, with ground mist drifting between them, stones, new shoots and one culm tied with a red cloth band.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Bamboo groves for the Bamboo Forest kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Bamboo Forest kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall stalks, mist and stone paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: bamboo green #3a883a, mist grey #adadad, stone #9c958b, red accent #c32222, bamboo green dark #235223, mist grey dark #878787, bamboo green light #5db15d, mist grey light #d4d4d4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mistDensity` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mist density" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 6.9 × 5.5 m in plan and 7.5 m tall; the leaf-litter mound is about 6.6 × 5.2 m and 0.26 m high, and the culms are 5.3–7.2 m tall at the default culmHeight. The bottom rests on y = 0, the origin is at the bottom centre and the front faces +Z (the red-banded culm is on the front). The GLB has 8,620 triangles in 13 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip; three-check's 8.9k figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (9 of the 12; soot black, warm white and mid grey are unused). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so 'bamboo green dark', 'bamboo green light' and 'dark wood' appear more than once; recolour by name. mistDensity (the kit's 'Mist density') sets how many low drifting mist banks pool between the culms (0 to 8) and how thick they are; at 0 the mist meshes are omitted. Mist is opaque faceted geometry seated on the mound, not a volumetric effect. culmCount (6–12), culmHeight and lean reshape the grove; the culmCount maximum is 12 to stay under 10,000 triangles. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. The viewer uses exposure 0.9 rather than the direction's 1.05; this does not affect the GLB. Foliage sprays of neighbouring culms overlap a little, as in a real grove. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 warnings, all expected: material count over the direction's 10 (duplicates come from the per-mesh export), non-indexed geometry on purpose for hard flat-shaded facets, overlapping boxes for nested pieces (mound layers, stones and mist seated on the mound), and a scale heuristic that expects a 1 m object. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 14 ids.

About the Bamboo groves 3D model

Bamboo groves is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bamboo Forest set. It measures 6.9 m × 7.5 m × 5.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 8,620 triangles across 13 meshes, with 14 named parts. Download the 619 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Bamboo groves 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 619 KB: 8,620 triangles, 25,860 vertices and 13 materials, modelled in metres at 6.9 m × 7.5 m × 5.5 m.
Can I animate Bamboo groves?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 14 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Bamboo groves 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
