Torches

A low-poly Ancient Egyptian standing temple torch: a banded dark-wood shaft on a stepped limestone plinth, topped by a green papyrus capital bound in lapis and gold that holds a gold brazier bowl with a faceted, glowing flame.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Torches for the Ancient Egypt kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Ancient Egypt kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Temples and work camps by the river. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sand #d1bd94, lapis blue #2e67b8, gold #d0a225, palm green #3a883a, sand dark #ba9c5e, lapis blue dark #1f457a, sand light #e6ddcb, lapis blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `pyramidSizeAndCompletion` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Pyramid size and completion" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2.23 m tall to the flame tip × 0.40 m square plinth (the brazier bowl is 0.34 m across, its rim at about 1.68 m). Origin at the bottom centre, the plinth rests on y = 0, front faces +Z (the piece is rotationally near-symmetric). The GLB has 1,182 triangles in 15 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip (three-check's 1,472-triangle figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 9 of the 12 are used. The flame meshes reuse the 'gold' and 'warm white' names with an emissive added, so recolouring by name also recolours the flame; add your own light in-engine, as the GLB carries no lights. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials. pyramidSizeAndCompletion (the kit's 'Pyramid size and completion' knob) scales the whole torch 0.9×–1.1× (1× at the default) and sets how finished it is: bare sand-toned foot and binding below 0.2, lapis paint from 0.2, gold bands, ring and bowl from 0.4. flameHeight 0 removes the flame for an unlit torch. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and expected warnings: material count above the direction's 10 and duplicate same-named materials (per-mesh export plus the emissive flame variants), non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets, nested collars and capital parts overlapping sibling bounds by design, a 'detached' brazier that is in fact seated in the umbel's dish, and height above the 1 m reference. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 8 ids.

About the Torches 3D model

Torches is a free low-poly 3D model from the Ancient Egypt set. It measures 40 cm × 2.2 m × 40 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,182 triangles across 15 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 97 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Torches 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 97 KB: 1,182 triangles, 3,546 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 40 cm × 2.2 m × 40 cm.
Can I animate Torches?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Torches 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
