Reed boat
A low-poly Ancient Egyptian papyrus skiff: a bundled reed hull bound with rope, sweeping up into green papyrus-umbel finials, with a lapis canopy, a cargo of limestone blocks, two rowing oars and a steering oar. It carries a seamless 4 s rowing loop.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Reed boat for the Ancient Egypt kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Ancient Egypt kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Temples and work camps by the river. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sand #d1bd94, lapis blue #2e67b8, gold #d0a225, palm green #3a883a, sand dark #ba9c5e, lapis blue dark #1f457a, sand light #e6ddcb, lapis blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `pyramidSizeAndCompletion` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Pyramid size and completion" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the reed hull is 6.0 m between its two reed tips, and the flared papyrus finials add a little at each end (the model spans z −3.81 to +3.47 m) and 1.3 m in beam (1.38 m over the lashings). It sits 0.62 m deep amidships, the deck top is 0.65 m up, the canopy ridge is 2.41 m, and the stern finial is the tallest point at 2.44 m. With the oars out the boat is about 4.5 m wide, and the steering-oar blade is the aftmost point. Origin: x is centred, y = 0 is the flat keel face of the bundle amidships, and z is centred on the hull, so the steering oar makes the footprint slightly longer aft. The bow (lower finial) faces +Z and port is +X. No water is included; set the boat into your own river surface (a waterline of about 0.25 m suits it). The GLB has 2,468 triangles in 25 meshes, merged per part and colour and flat-shaded. It holds one baked 4 s clip, 'scene-motion', in which the hull never moves. Each oar swivel turns about its vertical thole pin, each oar (a child of its swivel) dips about a horizontal axis through the same pin point, and the steering oar swings about the vertical pin on top of its crutch post. Every term is a whole-period sine or cosine, so the loop is seamless, and blades never go below y = 0. The static node pose in the GLB is the t = 2 s pose (oars lifted on the recovery), because three-check exports after its determinism seek. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 7 of the 12 are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name repeats across materials: recolour by name. pyramidSizeAndCompletion (the kit's 'Pyramid size and completion' knob) sets the boat's cargo of limestone blocks for the building site: 1 block at 0, 3 at the default 0.5, 4 near 0.6, and from 0.8 a fifth block on top crowned by a gilded capstone (pyramidion). The blocks also grow from 0.32 m to 0.45 m. length and endRise reshape the hull, and strokeLength scales the oar sweep in the viewer and in any clip baked afterwards. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. Fix rounds: (1) the sand hull washed out to near-white and dense bands made it look candy-striped, so the hull became sand dark with fewer, narrower lashings; (2) the deck and cargo still washed out, so the deck became dark wood with sand dark battens, and the hero and back framing were tightened and loosened respectively; (3) the lashing bands dipped 18 mm under the keel face, so they were clamped to y ≥ 0. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings. Two cover the material count and duplicate materials (from the per-mesh export). One flags deliberate nesting (finial collars, pole feet, crutch fork). One flags the deck, cargo and oar grommets as 'detached', but they sit on the hull and swivels, which are separate parts. One flags a 2.44 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 13 ids.
About the Reed boat 3D model
Reed boat is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Ancient Egypt set. It measures 4.5 m × 2.4 m × 7.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,468 triangles across 25 meshes, with 13 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 222 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Reed boat 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 222 KB: 2,468 triangles, 4,878 vertices and 25 materials, modelled in metres at 4.5 m × 2.4 m × 7.3 m.
- Is Reed boat animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Reed boat 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
