Chariot

A low-poly New Kingdom Egyptian chariot for the Ancient Egypt kit: a D-shaped lapis-painted cab under a gilded top rail, two big six-spoked wheels on an axle at the rear of the cab, a long up-swept pole to a yoke with two saddles, and a quiver of arrows, shown unhitched on a pole stand. It has a seamless 8 s loop: the wheels turn and the yoke tassels swing.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Chariot for the Ancient Egypt kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Ancient Egypt kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Temples and work camps by the river. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sand #d1bd94, lapis blue #2e67b8, gold #d0a225, palm green #3a883a, sand dark #ba9c5e, lapis blue dark #1f457a, sand light #e6ddcb, lapis blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `pyramidSizeAndCompletion` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Pyramid size and completion" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 3.2 m long (wheel rims to pole tip) × 2.0 m wide over the axle ends × 1.54 m tall to the arrow tips; the wheels are 0.94 m across, the cab floor is 1.0 × 0.55 m at 0.63 m, the top rail is 1.49 m high at the front and the yoke sits at about 1.1 m. Shown unhitched (no horses): a tripod stand holds the pole at yoke height. The origin is at the bottom centre, the model rests on y = 0 on both tyres and the three stand feet, and the pole faces +Z. The GLB has 3,244 triangles in 34 meshes; three-check's 3,534 figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 9 of the 12 are used at the default (sand, lapis blue light and soot black are not; sand replaces lapis on the panels below 0.25 and lapis blue light appears from 0.75). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The baked clip scene-motion (8 s, seamless) turns both wheels one full forward revolution about the axle and swings the two tassels on their hooks under the yoke ends. The cab, pole, yoke and stand never move, so the wheels spin in place. The wheels are 24-sided with a vertex at the bottom at t = 0 and every quarter turn; in between the tyre lifts at most about 4 mm. The GLB's static node pose is the t = 2 s pose (a quarter turn), because three-check exports after its determinism seek. pyramidSizeAndCompletion (the kit's 'Pyramid size and completion') reads on this part as how finished the chariot is: bare sand panels and sand-dark trim below 0.25, lapis panels with a palm-green stripe from 0.25, gold rail, bands, nave caps and knobs from 0.5, and a gold sun disc between lapis-light wings on the breastwork from 0.75. It does not scale the chariot. wheelRadius (the cab, pole and floor heights follow the axle), spokeCount and poleLength rebuild the model. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 expected warnings: 34 per-mesh materials sharing 9 colour names (count above the direction's 10, and duplicates), deliberately non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, and nested sibling bounds (the band and stripe on the breastwork, the rail on its posts). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 13 ids. Fix round 1 turned the hero further side-on so the cab and wheels lead, loosened the top view and shortened the yoke saddles and default pole; fix round 2 tightened the front and back views and moved the loop from 6 s to 8 s so the export pose is a quarter wheel turn, which removed a false 0.17 m below-ground dip in the wheels' node bounds.

About the Chariot 3D model

Chariot is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Ancient Egypt set. It measures 2.0 m × 1.5 m × 3.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,244 triangles across 34 meshes, with 13 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 291 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Chariot 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 291 KB: 3,244 triangles, 9,732 vertices and 34 materials, modelled in metres at 2.0 m × 1.5 m × 3.2 m.
Is Chariot animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Chariot 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
