Tourist

A round, wide-eyed chibi tourist in his 50s, wearing a white bucket hat, a turquoise hibiscus-print shirt, cream shorts, and white socks in orange sandals, with a folded paper map in his right hand. Skinned to the shared Mixamo skeleton in a T-pose, ready for retargeted clips.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A man, 50s, round, about 1.78 m tall. Wide-eyed, amazed expression. Wearing: bucket hat, loud print shirt, shorts, sandals with socks (plain fabrics, no logos, brand names or readable text). Palette: Turquoise, orange, white. Prop: paper map, carried naturally and bound to the hand or arm bone that holds it. Chibi style. The rig test is judged by eye from dist/rig-test.png: in the bent pose every limb, sleeve and the prop must stay attached and deform with the body — verify the capture visually before reporting PASS.

Note: T-pose bind pose, no animation clips. 25 Mixamo bones with no finger bones (mitten hands use …Hand only). Nine skinned meshes share one skeleton, with at most 4 weights per vertex, normalised. The head, hat, face and hair are weighted 100% to mixamorig:Head. The paper map is a separate mesh weighted 100% to mixamorig:RightHand. Clothing is skinned to the bones under it, with no cloth simulation. Colours come from vertex colours plus two canvas textures drawn in code (shirt print, map sheet), with no text or logos. glb-lint reports no errors, only heuristic warnings: 9 material slots against the direction's default of 6, and a scale warning because the pack's default is a 0.25 m toy. Both are intentional and declared in design-plan.md.

About the Tourist 3D model

Tourist is a free toy-style 3D model from the City and office characters set, rigged with a 25-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton. It measures 1.9 m × 1.8 m × 94 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 7,684 triangles across 9 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 511 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tourist 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 511 KB: 7,684 triangles, 5,033 vertices and 9 materials, modelled in metres at 1.9 m × 1.8 m × 94 cm.
Is Tourist animated?
It ships without a baked clip, in its bind pose. It is rigged with a 25-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton, so it takes retargeted animation.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tourist 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
