Glass walkways
A low-poly 6 m modular skywalk segment for a solarpunk garden city: a dark-wood deck enclosed in sky-blue glass walls and a faceted glass barrel roof on white ribs, carried 4 m up on a forked white pier. Terracotta planter troughs line both sides, with leaf-green vines climbing the ribs and over the roof.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Glass walkways for the Solarpunk Garden City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. This is one part of the Solarpunk Garden City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A green city of glass and vines. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, white #f4f1ec, terracotta #be5937, sky blue #2e67b8, leaf green dark #235223, white dark #d7cebc, leaf green light #5db15d, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `plantCoverage` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Plant coverage" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 6 m long (x) × 4.15 m deep (z, including troughs and trailing vines; 2.5 m clear between the glass) × 7.49 m tall. The walking deck is at 4 m. Modular: the segment snaps on a 1 m grid. Its origin is at the snapping end (x = 0), centred in depth, with the pier footing resting on y = 0. The segment runs along +X to x = 6 and both end planes are open and flush. Ribs sit at 0.5, 1.5 … 5.5 m, so butted segments keep a 1 m rib rhythm with no doubled frame; there is one pier per segment, at its midpoint. This departs from the library's bottom-centre origin because the brief asks for the origin at the snapping end. Static: no animation clip. 5,490 triangles, 20 draw calls. All 12 kit colours are used. Every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names appear on several materials; recolour by name. The glass is the only translucent material (alpha blend, opacity 0.42). Normals are baked flat (non-indexed geometry) so the facets survive in engines that ignore flat-shading flags. The GLB is baked at the default params. plantCoverage (kit 'Plant coverage') changes the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer: it controls how many ribs carry climbing vines, how far they climb over the roof, how dense the trough foliage is, how far vines trail down the troughs and how full the pier's collar planter is. At 0 the troughs and collar hold bare soil. Vine placement is seeded and deterministic. length, deckHeight and clearWidth also rebuild the geometry; length is rounded to whole metres. At the extreme of length 12 with plantCoverage 1, the triangle count can exceed 10,000. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings: material count above the direction default (one material per mesh), duplicate-named materials, non-indexed primitives (from the flat normals), ribs and glass overlapping because the panes are seated in the ribs, deck boards and glass flagged as detached because they rest on parts in other groups, and the height of 7.5 m against the kit's 1 m reference. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated slug part ids this library requires; with neutral ids the same plan passes.
About the Glass walkways 3D model
Glass walkways is a free low-poly 3D model from the Solarpunk Garden City set. It measures 6.0 m × 7.5 m × 4.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,200 triangles across 18 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 506 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Glass walkways 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 506 KB: 5,200 triangles, 15,600 vertices and 18 materials, modelled in metres at 6.0 m × 7.5 m × 4.1 m.
- Can I animate Glass walkways?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Glass walkways 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
