Farmhouses

A low-poly rice-terrace homestead: a white half-timbered house raised on short posts under a steep straw thatch, with a mud-walled kitchen house beside it. They sit on one dry-stone terrace step with a flooded rice seedbed, a straw drying rack, firewood and clay jars.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Farmhouses for the Rice Terraces kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Rice Terraces kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stepped green hills and small farms. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rice green #3a883a, water mirror #3997c6, earth brown #6b4a2e, straw #d7c375, rice green dark #235223, water mirror dark #286a8a, rice green light #5db15d, water mirror light #79b5d2, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `growthStageWater` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Growth stage (water" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 10.08 m wide (X) × 7.28 m deep (Z) × 5.92 m tall at the main thatch ridge. The dry-stone terrace step is 10 × 7.2 m and 0.5 m high. The main house is 5.0 × 3.2 m with 2.3 m walls on a floor 1.02 m above the terrace, and the kitchen house is 2.8 × 2.3 m with 2.2 m walls. The origin is at the bottom centre, the terrace foot rests on y = 0, and the front (veranda, stair, seedbed) faces +Z. The GLB has 7,062 triangles in 30 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's 7,352-triangle figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on several materials; recolour by name. growthStageWater (the kit's 'Growth stage (water' knob) drives the seedbed: at 0 the water stands 0.17 m deep with short light-green shoots; toward 1 it drains to 0.05 m, the clumps grow to about 0.85 m and, above 0.7, straw seed heads appear. postHeight raises the main house on its posts, and the stair grows extra steps to match. roofPitch sets the main thatch slope; the kitchen roof is always 4° shallower. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 warnings, all expected: material count and duplicate same-named materials from the per-mesh export; deliberately non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets; nested sibling boxes (stones on the terrace, slats on the floor); a 'detached' heuristic on the railing, which stands on the veranda floor; and a 5.9 m height against the direction's 1 m reference height. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 13 ids.

About the Farmhouses 3D model

Farmhouses is a free low-poly 3D model from the Rice Terraces set. It measures 10 m × 5.9 m × 7.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 7,062 triangles across 30 meshes, with 13 named parts. Download the 694 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Farmhouses 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 694 KB: 7,062 triangles, 21,186 vertices and 30 materials, modelled in metres at 10 m × 5.9 m × 7.3 m.
Can I animate Farmhouses?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 13 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Farmhouses 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
