Bamboo aqueduct

A low-poly bamboo aqueduct for a rice-terrace village. An open channel of split straw-coloured bamboo leaves a stone-faced terrace bank, rides on lashed X-shaped green bamboo trestles and pours a stream into a round stone basin.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Bamboo aqueduct for the Rice Terraces kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Rice Terraces kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stepped green hills and small farms. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rice green #3a883a, water mirror #3997c6, earth brown #6b4a2e, straw #d7c375, rice green dark #235223, water mirror dark #286a8a, rice green light #5db15d, water mirror light #79b5d2, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `growthStageWater` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Growth stage (water" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 8.28 m long (X) × 2.06 m wide (Z) × 2.01 m tall. That is a 6 m bamboo span carried about 1.7 m above the ground, a 1.2 m terrace bank at the high (−X) end and a 1.1 m stone basin at the low (+X) end. The channel culms are giant bamboo about 26 cm across, falling 5 cm per metre. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint, every foot rests on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 3,744 triangles in 15 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's 4,034-triangle figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 9 of the 12 are used (not soot black, warm white or rice green light). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on several materials; recolour by name. growthStageWater (the kit's 'Growth stage (water' knob) sets the flow: water depth in the culms, ditch width and stream thickness, from a shallow trickle at 0 to a nearly brimming channel at 1. span, trestleCount and channelHeight reshape the run, and the trestles, rails and basin follow. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 warnings, all expected: duplicate same-named materials from the per-mesh export and a material count above the direction's 10; deliberately non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets; overlap between nested parts (water inside the culms, node rings on the culms); a 'detached' heuristic on the turf cap, turf bund and lashings, which sit on the bank or wrap the poles but are separate meshes; and a 2 m height against the direction's 1 m reference height. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 8 ids.

About the Bamboo aqueduct 3D model

Bamboo aqueduct is a free low-poly 3D model from the Rice Terraces set. It measures 8.3 m × 2.0 m × 2.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,744 triangles across 15 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 277 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Bamboo aqueduct 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 277 KB: 3,744 triangles, 11,232 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 8.3 m × 2.0 m × 2.1 m.
Can I animate Bamboo aqueduct?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Bamboo aqueduct 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
