Gravel floor tiles

A low-poly 4 × 4 m greenhouse floor tile: faceted grey gravel with pale pebbles, a terracotta quarry-tile path between dark wood edging boards, a drain grate, puddles, moss and potted plants. It tiles seamlessly in every direction.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Gravel floor tiles for the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Glass, humidity and green. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, glass blue #2e67b8, terracotta #be5937, white #f4f1ec, leaf green dark #235223, glass blue dark #1f457a, leaf green light #5db15d, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `plantMix` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Plant mix" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: exactly 4.0 × 4.0 m. The GLB bounds are x and z −2 to 2 and y 0 to 0.84 m, and the tallest plant reaches 0.84 m. The gravel surface sits at 5 cm on every border, rising at most 1.2 cm inside, and the path tiles stand 2.5 cm above the gravel. The origin is at the tile centre and the bottom rests on y = 0, with the front facing +Z. The path and edging boards run edge to edge along Z, so copies on a 4 m grid join up into a continuous path. Nothing loose crosses a border, so the tile also repeats seamlessly along X. The GLB has 6,982 triangles and is static, with no animation clip. It uses 10 of the 12 kit colours, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. White and glass blue dark are not used, and soot black appears only in the drain slots. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials; recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. plantMix (the kit’s Plant mix) adds pots from a fixed ranking, from 2 at 0 to 8 at 1, so raising it only adds pots. It also grows the plants, spreads moss across the damp gravel and adds weed tufts along the boards. pathTiles sets the path to 1–3 quarry tiles wide, pebbles sets the loose stone count, and puddles sets 0–3 puddles. At puddles = 0 the Puddles part is absent. Only the default params were rendered and checked. The extremes were not captured; by estimate the heaviest settings stay under about 9k triangles. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 warnings: material count, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), overlaps between the gravel colour meshes (they share one heightfield), and the drain bars and puddle sheets flagged as detached. The bars rest on the drain plate and the puddles sit 5 mm above the gravel, as designed. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; with the ids de-hyphenated it passes. three-check accepts the real ids, and all 10 survive the GLB reload. Fix rounds: (1) lighter gravel speckle, plain gravel under the path and tighter hero framing; (2) half the bump height so facets stop flashing, and the hero loosened off the toolbar; (3) edging-board ends pulled in 2 mm, which removed z-fighting with the slab skirt in the back view; (4) weed tufts held inside the border, because their blades had leaned 5 mm past z = −2.

About the Gravel floor tiles 3D model

Gravel floor tiles is a free low-poly 3D model from the Plant Shop and Greenhouse set. It measures 4.0 m × 84 cm × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 6,982 triangles across 19 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 508 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Gravel floor tiles 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 508 KB: 6,982 triangles, 20,946 vertices and 19 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 84 cm × 4.0 m.
Can I animate Gravel floor tiles?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Gravel floor tiles 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
