Seed racks

A low-poly greenhouse seed-starting rack: four mid grey shelves on glass blue dark posts, with grow-light bars under each shelf, black plug trays of green sprouts, terracotta pots of seedlings on the bottom tier and a clear humidity dome on top.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Seed racks for the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Glass, humidity and green. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, glass blue #2e67b8, terracotta #be5937, white #f4f1ec, leaf green dark #235223, glass blue dark #1f457a, leaf green light #5db15d, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `plantMix` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Plant mix" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 1.21 m wide (X), 0.43 m deep (Z) and 1.57 m tall to the top shelf, or 1.68 m to the top of the spare pot stack. Each shelf holds one standard 0.54 × 0.28 m plug tray per slot, and the shelves are 0.36 m apart. Origin: bottom centre, resting on y = 0, front facing +Z. The GLB has 3,236 triangles in 16 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's 3,526 figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. All 12 kit colours are used, and every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names repeat; recolour by name. The humidity domes are transparent (glass blue light at 32% opacity, depthWrite off), and the grow-light diffusers are emissive warm white. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. plantMix (the kit's 'Plant mix') sprouts a share of the tray cells and pots in a fixed seeded order: 30% at 0 and all of them at 1. It also sets how tall and wide the sprouts grow. tiers sets the shelf count: the bottom tier holds terracotta pots, the top tier holds the domed trays, and the tiers between hold open trays. traysPerShelf sets the width (0.56 m per slot). domes covers that share of the top-tier trays. To stay under the 6,000-triangle cap, the lowest-ranked sprouts are dropped first on the largest racks. At the maximum params (5 tiers, 3 trays, plantMix 1, all domes) the viewer reports 6,190 triangles including the ground, about 5.9k in the model. Both param extremes passed three-check in temporary runs. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicate names (one material per mesh), non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), sibling overlap (soil and sprouts nested in trays and pots) and one 'detached' mesh (the pot soil discs, which sit inside the pots). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. With the ids substituted, it passes. three-check accepts the real ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.

About the Seed racks 3D model

Seed racks is a free low-poly 3D model from the Plant Shop and Greenhouse set. It measures 1.2 m × 1.7 m × 43 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,236 triangles across 16 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 242 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Seed racks 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 242 KB: 3,236 triangles, 9,708 vertices and 16 materials, modelled in metres at 1.2 m × 1.7 m × 43 cm.
Can I animate Seed racks?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Seed racks 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
