Plants by type
A low-poly plant shop display tray with one potted plant of each common houseplant type: a monstera with split leaves, an arching fern, an upright snake plant, a branching cactus and a succulent rosette. Each pot has a blank marker stake.

Left rail: colours and the 3 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Plants by type for the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Glass, humidity and green. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, glass blue #2e67b8, terracotta #be5937, white #f4f1ec, leaf green dark #235223, glass blue dark #1f457a, leaf green light #5db15d, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `plantMix` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Plant mix" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: the dark-wood tray is 1.20 m × 0.46 m and the tallest monstera leaf reaches 0.66 m. Foliage overhangs the tray, so the full bounds are about 1.38 m wide × 0.83 m deep. The origin is the bottom centre of the tray, resting on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The monstera's leaves hang past the tray's left edge, so the origin is the tray centre, not the centre of the bounding box. The GLB has 3,840 triangles in 19 meshes (one per part and material) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can repeat: recolour by name. Glass blue light and mid grey from the kit palette are not used. plantMix (the kit's 'Plant mix') balances the tray between arid and tropical plants. At 0 the cactus and succulent are 20% larger and the monstera and fern are smaller and sparser (4 leaves, 7 fronds). At 1 the reverse is true (7 leaves, 11 fronds), and above 0.7 the cactus drops to one arm. growth scales every plant, and snakeBlades sets the snake plant's blade count. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extremes were rendered and passed three-check: 3,514 viewer triangles at the minimums and 4,496 at the maximums. These viewer figures include the staging ground, which is not exported. Leaf placement is seeded, so it is deterministic. The marker stakes are blank on purpose (the library allows no text). glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic or direction warnings. They are 19 materials against the soft default of 10 (one per mesh, sharing 10 palette names), duplicate materials, intended overlaps (pots in the tray, stems in the pots), and 'detached' soil and stakes, which sit inside the pot rims and do not float. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphen in the slug-based ids this library requires. A de-hyphenated copy passes, three-check accepts the real ids, and all 10 survive the GLB reload.
About the Plants by type 3D model
Plants by type is a free low-poly 3D model from the Plant Shop and Greenhouse set. It measures 1.4 m × 66 cm × 83 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,840 triangles across 19 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 212 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Plants by type 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 212 KB: 3,840 triangles, 7,176 vertices and 19 materials, modelled in metres at 1.4 m × 66 cm × 83 cm.
- Can I animate Plants by type?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Plants by type 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
