Soil bags

A low-poly pile of potting-soil bags for a plant shop. Three sealed, pillow-shaped bags lie draped over one another, each with a plain white label band. Beside them a blue bag stands open, its top rolled into a white cuff around a heap of dark soil flecked with perlite, with a hand trowel stuck in.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Soil bags for the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Plant Shop and Greenhouse kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Glass, humidity and green. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, glass blue #2e67b8, terracotta #be5937, white #f4f1ec, leaf green dark #235223, glass blue dark #1f457a, leaf green light #5db15d, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `plantMix` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Plant mix" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: about 1.20 m wide × 0.56 m deep × 0.73 m tall to the trowel handle (0.48 m to the open bag's cuff). Each lying bag is a 50 L sack, 0.70 × 0.42 × 0.12 m at bagSize 1. The origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, resting on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 1,538 triangles in 12 meshes (one per part and material) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can repeat (white, terracotta and dark wood each appear twice): recolour by name. Soot black, leaf green light and glass blue light from the kit palette are not used. The label bands are deliberately blank, with no text or logos. plantMix (the kit's 'Plant mix') sets the blend: how many lying bags are green seed compost and how many are terracotta potting mix (alternating up the stack), plus the amount of perlite in the open bag's soil (6–22 flecks). stackCount sets 1–4 lying bags; each bag drapes onto the one below. bagSize scales the lying bags from 0.8× to 1.2×. fill sets how far the open bag's top is rolled down and how high the soil heaps. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extremes passed three-check: 1,044 viewer triangles at the minimums and 2,300 at the maximums, both including about 290 triangles of staging ground that is not exported. The 390×844 hero crops the pile, the same as other runs in this kit, because the runtime frames the hero at the desktop aspect. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic or direction warnings. They are 12 materials against the soft default of 10 (one per mesh, sharing 9 palette names), duplicate materials, intended overlap (stacked bags, label bands wrapping the bags, the soil inside the open bag), and the cuff flagged as 'detached', although it shares its bottom ring with the open bag's wall. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphen in the slug-based ids this library requires. A de-hyphenated copy passes, three-check accepts the real ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.

About the Soil bags 3D model

Soil bags is a free low-poly 3D model from the Plant Shop and Greenhouse set. It measures 1.2 m × 73 cm × 56 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,538 triangles across 12 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 110 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Soil bags 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 110 KB: 1,538 triangles, 3,734 vertices and 12 materials, modelled in metres at 1.2 m × 73 cm × 56 cm.
Can I animate Soil bags?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Soil bags 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
