Supply boat

A low-poly 72 m offshore platform supply vessel with a rust orange hull, a white superstructure and wide bridge right forward, and a long wooden cargo deck behind tall yellow cargo rails carrying containers, a pipe bundle and an ISO tank. It loops a 6 s animation: the radar turns, the deck crane slews with its hook swinging, and the stern azimuth thrusters swivel as their propellers spin.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Supply boat for the Oil Rig kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Oil Rig kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A steel island in rough water. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rust orange #ed7e1d, sea grey #757e8a, yellow #eecd2b, white #f4f1ec, rust orange dark #af590e, sea grey dark #525860, rust orange light #eea668, sea grey light #a3a5a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `seaState` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Sea state" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the hull is 72 m long with a 16 m beam (17.0 m over the fender belt), 72.5 m overall. The aft cargo deck is 7.7 m above the keel, the bow bulwark rises to 11.8 m, the bridge roof is about 19.3 m up, and the mast top light is the highest point at 24.9 m. Origin: x and z are centred on the footprint, y = 0 is the bottom of the keel amidships, and the bow faces +Z. No water is included. The design waterline is 5.6 m above the keel, at the white boot top. The azimuth thrusters hang below the raised stern and stay above y = 0. The GLB has 5,576 triangles in 56 meshes (merged per part and colour) and one 6 s seamless clip, 'scene-motion'. In the clip, the radar turns three times about its pedestal, the crane house and boom slew ±17° about the pedestal axis, the hook swings about the boom-tip sheave, and each thruster swivels about its vertical stock while its propeller spins 8 turns about the shaft. The hull never moves. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 appear at the default. seaState (the kit's 'Sea state') sets how far the crane hook swings and how hard the thrusters steer to hold station. It changes motion only, not the hull. deckCargo fills up to 4 deck slots in order: a sea grey container, a pipe bundle, a rust orange light container and a warm white ISO tank. At 0, a single small lashing plate keeps the cargo part non-empty. The bridge-wing sidelights are warm white stand-ins, because the palette has no red or green. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extremes (all-min and all-max) passed three-check. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected. They are: more than 10 material slots and duplicate-material sets (one material per mesh, 12 unique names); bounding-box overlap between nested parts such as the deck, superstructure and bridge; 'detached' heuristics, because each part is one merged mesh that sits on another part; and the scale check for a subject taller than 1 m. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. three-check and the GLB keep all 20 ids. Two fix rounds, both visual. Round one moved the superstructure forward, added a third tier and changed the black boot top to white so it no longer doubled the fender belt. Round two fixed the hero framing.

About the Supply boat 3D model

Supply boat is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Oil Rig set. It measures 17 m × 25 m × 73 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,576 triangles across 56 meshes, with 20 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 438 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Supply boat 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 438 KB: 5,576 triangles, 9,387 vertices and 56 materials, modelled in metres at 17 m × 25 m × 73 m.
Is Supply boat animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Supply boat 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
