Cranes' hooks
A low-poly offshore crane hook block parked on deck: rust-orange cheek plates round a stack of grey sheaves, a crosshead and swivel, and a big yellow hook with a black safety latch, its pin resting in a two-A-frame storage stand with sea-fastening straps.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Cranes' hooks for the Oil Rig kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Oil Rig kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A steel island in rough water. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rust orange #ed7e1d, sea grey #757e8a, yellow #eecd2b, white #f4f1ec, rust orange dark #af590e, sea grey dark #525860, rust orange light #eea668, sea grey light #a3a5a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `seaState` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Sea state" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale: 1.64 m (x) × 3.34 m tall × 2.22 m (z) including the storage stand; the hook block itself is about 2.5 m tall with 0.58 m-radius sheaves. Static model, 1,664 triangles, 10 materials each named exactly after its Oil Rig palette colour (white and warm white are unused). seaState sets the sea-fastening: no straps below 0.2, one pair up to 0.65, two pairs above. sheaveCount (1–4) rebuilds the block width; hookYaw turns the hook on its swivel. glb-lint reports 0 errors (verdict UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract is supplied; remaining warnings are heuristics for flat-shaded, non-indexed geometry and the 3.3 m height). plan-check rejects hyphenated part ids, so the plan was verified PASS on a de-hyphenated copy; three-check accepts the library ids.
About the Cranes' hooks 3D model
Cranes' hooks is a free low-poly 3D model from the Oil Rig set. It measures 1.6 m × 3.3 m × 2.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,664 triangles across 20 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 134 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Cranes' hooks 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 134 KB: 1,664 triangles, 4,992 vertices and 20 materials, modelled in metres at 1.6 m × 3.3 m × 2.2 m.
- Can I animate Cranes' hooks?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Cranes' hooks 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
