Platform decks
A low-poly 4 × 4 m offshore platform deck module: a seamed steel plate on a box-girder edge with a yellow-lined walkway, a recessed drain grating, an octagonal access hatch and a pipe run. Its edges are flat and the walkway and pipes run straight through the borders, so copies tile seamlessly in every direction.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Platform decks for the Oil Rig kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Oil Rig kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A steel island in rough water. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rust orange #ed7e1d, sea grey #757e8a, yellow #eecd2b, white #f4f1ec, rust orange dark #af590e, sea grey dark #525860, rust orange light #eea668, sea grey light #a3a5a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `seaState` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Sea state" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: an exact 4 × 4 m footprint. The deck is 0.2 m thick (a 15 cm girder layer under a 5 cm plate), and the pipe run reaches 0.464 m. The origin is at the tile centre, the bottom rests on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. Every border face is a flat vertical plane. The walkway, pipes and pipe saddles (every 2 m) run along Z and join the neighbouring tile's. Weld seams repeat every 2 m in both directions, and border overlays stop 1 mm short of the side faces. The GLB has 916 triangles in 17 meshes and no animation clip; it is a static asset. It uses 8 of the 12 kit colours, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. seaState (the kit's 'Sea state') adds dark wet spray patches to the deck: 0 is dry, the default gives 5 patches and 1 gives 9, placed by a seed. All params were checked at their extremes. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict prints UNVERIFIED because 5 rules need a requirements contract or a manual review. Its 6 heuristic warnings were reviewed and do not apply: the sump and wet patches are seated in the deck, the paint overlaps are intended, and the height is expected for a deck tile. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. A copy with the hyphens removed passes, and three-check accepts the ids.
About the Platform decks 3D model
Platform decks is a free low-poly 3D model from the Oil Rig set. It measures 4.0 m × 46 cm × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 916 triangles across 17 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 79 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Platform decks 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 79 KB: 916 triangles, 2,536 vertices and 17 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 46 cm × 4.0 m.
- Can I animate Platform decks?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Platform decks 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
