Tangled power poles
A low-poly pair of tapered concrete street power poles joined by a sagging, crossing rat's nest of black cables. It comes with crossarms and white insulators, a pole-top transformer, a cluster of meter boxes, coiled slack loops, dangling cut tails and taped-on flyers.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Tangled power poles for the Motorbike Alley kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Motorbike Alley kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A narrow tropical lane of shop houses. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: faded yellow #dbc970, teal shutters #2d8686, red #c32222, wet concrete #8a8a8a, faded yellow dark #ccb233, teal shutters dark #1a4d4d, faded yellow light #e8dfb0, teal shutters light #46b9b9, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `signLanguageAndText` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Sign language and text" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 9.45 m wide (x), 2.44 m deep (z) and 9.56 m tall (default params). The poles are 9.5 m tall and 6 m apart, and cut cable tails hang about 1.7 m past each pole. The span runs along X with the front facing +Z. The origin is at the bottom centre and the model rests on y = 0. The GLB has 7,380 triangles in 23 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed), so the facets survive in any engine. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12 are used; faded yellow dark is not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Flyers carry abstract colour stripes, never real text. Cable ends that leave the asset are cut tails hanging in the air by design, so they can meet a neighbouring pole or a house when the kit is assembled. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. signLanguageAndText (the kit's 'Sign language and text') sets the number of flyers on the poles (0–6) and the stripes on each flyer (1–4). tangle (0–1) sets the cable count (10–32 across the span, 4–12 tails per side), how far they sag and wander, and the number of coils and knots. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicate materials (from the per-mesh materials), unindexed geometry (flat shading on purpose), sibling overlap (bands, wraps and crossarms embedded in the poles on purpose), detached parts (the coils mesh touches the poles and cables, which sit in other groups) and scale (compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens that this library's slug-based ids need. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.
About the Tangled power poles 3D model
Tangled power poles is a free low-poly 3D model from the Motorbike Alley set. It measures 9.5 m × 9.6 m × 2.4 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 7,380 triangles across 23 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 538 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Tangled power poles 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 538 KB: 7,380 triangles, 22,140 vertices and 23 materials, modelled in metres at 9.5 m × 9.6 m × 2.4 m.
- Can I animate Tangled power poles?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Tangled power poles 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
