Cyclo

A low-poly Vietnamese cyclo (pedal rickshaw): a teal passenger bucket with red cushions rides in front between two wheels under a folding faded yellow hood. The rider's saddle, handlebar, pedals and single rear wheel sit behind. It comes with a seamless 4 s riding loop.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Cyclo for the Motorbike Alley kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Motorbike Alley kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A narrow tropical lane of shop houses. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: faded yellow #dbc970, teal shutters #2d8686, red #c32222, wet concrete #8a8a8a, faded yellow dark #ccb233, teal shutters dark #1a4d4d, faded yellow light #e8dfb0, teal shutters light #46b9b9, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `signLanguageAndText` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Sign language and text" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size: 2.57 m long, 1.05 m wide across the front mudguards and 1.43 m tall to the top of the raised hood. The passenger seat is 0.72 m wide at 0.55 m high, and the rider's saddle is at 1.0 m. The wheels are 0.66 m across (26 in), with a 0.94 m front track and a 1.58 m wheelbase. The origin is at the bottom centre, all three tyres rest on y = 0, and the front (passenger seat and footboard) faces +Z. The GLB has 3,400 triangles in 39 meshes. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The baked clip scene-motion (4 s, seamless) moves only parts on their own pivots: all three wheels roll 2 whole turns on their axles, the crank makes 1 turn on the bottom bracket (matching the 2:1 chainring-to-cog ratio), and each pedal counter-swivels on its spindle to stay level. The body never moves. The tyres have 20 facets, so while they roll the contact point rises and falls by a few millimetres. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. signLanguageAndText (the kit's 'Sign language and text') sizes the blank sign board on the front apron and sets how many abstract glyph blocks it carries (2–6). It never shows real text, and at 0 the board is removed. hoodOpen folds the hood back on its hinge pins by up to 1.05 rad and stays clear of the handlebar. seatWidth widens the bucket, the hood and the front wheel track together. Kit tooling notes: plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires (the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes). glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicate names (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, deliberate overlaps where brackets join panels, and single-mesh parts (cushions, footboard, saddle) flagged as detached because they touch meshes in other part groups.

About the Cyclo 3D model

Cyclo is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Motorbike Alley set. It measures 1.0 m × 1.4 m × 2.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,400 triangles across 39 meshes, with 15 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 307 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Cyclo 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 307 KB: 3,400 triangles, 10,200 vertices and 39 materials, modelled in metres at 1.0 m × 1.4 m × 2.6 m.
Is Cyclo animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Cyclo 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
