Alley tiles
A low-poly 4 × 4 m lane tile for a narrow tropical shop-house alley. It has wet concrete paving with a dark centre drain, faded-yellow motorbike parking lines, painted arrows and red slow chevrons, a manhole cover and teal rain puddles. Its edges are flat and the drain and lines run straight through, so copies tile seamlessly in every direction.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Alley tiles for the Motorbike Alley kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Motorbike Alley kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A narrow tropical lane of shop houses. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: faded yellow #dbc970, teal shutters #2d8686, red #c32222, wet concrete #8a8a8a, faded yellow dark #ccb233, teal shutters dark #1a4d4d, faded yellow light #e8dfb0, teal shutters light #46b9b9, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `signLanguageAndText` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Sign language and text" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: exactly 4.00 × 4.00 m and 0.124 m tall. The paving surface is at 0.10 m and the manhole cover ribs reach 0.124 m. The origin is at the tile centre, the bottom rests on y = 0, and the lane runs along Z with the front facing +Z. How it tiles: the slab's border ring is exactly flat, and only interior facets dip (up to 12 mm, seeded). Joints on the tile edges are half width, so two neighbours share one full joint. The centre drain and both parking lines run unbroken along Z. Grate bars repeat every 0.25 m and bay ticks every 1 m, so they line up with the next tile's. The 0.4 m parking strips at the X edges join with a neighbour's into one 0.8 m strip. The GLB has 1,376 triangles in 13 meshes, is static and has no animation clip. Every material is named after its kit palette colour, so you can recolour by name. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some colour names appear more than once (11 materials, 8 distinct colours). Faded yellow dark/light, teal shutters light and dark wood are not used. The GLB is baked at the default params, and only the defaults were rendered and checked. signLanguageAndText (the kit's 'Sign language and text') sets how much painted signage the lane carries, using glyphs only and no text: none at 0, then arrows from 0.5 m to 1.2 m long, plus red slow chevrons from 0.25 (2 per side, 3 per side from 0.75). wetness scales the three puddles and removes them at 0. panelSize sets the joint grid (1, 2 or 4 m). These params rebuild the tile in the viewer only. The viewer uses exposure 0.55 rather than the direction's 1.05 so the paint does not wash out; this does not affect the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected. The material count and duplicate warnings come from the per-mesh export. Geometry is non-indexed because it is flat-shaded. The overlap is the grate sitting in its channel. The 'detached' parts are paint and the manhole, which are seated in the slab rather than reaching y = 0. The height is below the 1 m reference because this is a ground tile. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.
About the Alley tiles 3D model
Alley tiles is a free low-poly 3D model from the Motorbike Alley set. It measures 4.0 m × 12 cm × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,086 triangles across 11 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 100 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Alley tiles 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 100 KB: 1,086 triangles, 3,202 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 12 cm × 4.0 m.
- Can I animate Alley tiles?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Alley tiles 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
