Timber props
A low-poly run of mine timber ground support: two sets of battered round-log posts under hewn cap beams on mud sills, with knee braces, a boarded lagging roof, side lagging and loose ore fallen on top.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Timber props for the Mine and Quarry kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Mine and Quarry kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Rock, dust and heavy machines. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: ochre #bd8728, slate #525e6f, machine yellow #eecd2b, rust #9b4427, ochre dark #7e5a1b, slate dark #323943, ochre light #d6a95c, slate light #7b8593, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `oreColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Ore colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 2.6 m wide across the cap beams (3.8 m including the floor rocks), 2.3 m deep with the default two sets 1.2 m apart, and 2.63 m to the top of the roof lagging (2.88 m to the top of the ore heap). The posts are 2.3 m tall, 0.28 m round logs, and the clear span is 2.4 m at the floor. The drift opening faces +Z and the sets repeat along Z. The origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, and the model rests on y = 0 on its two mud sills and the floor rocks. The GLB has 1,072 triangles in 11 meshes (merged per part and colour), flat normals (non-indexed) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; recolour by name. slate, slate light and warm white are not used at the default. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. oreColour (the kit's 'Ore colour') picks the loose-rock colour in five palette steps (slate light, ochre light, rust, ochre, machine yellow), the same ore ramp as the other Mine and Quarry parts. The spreaders only exist with two or more sets, but the braces part always keeps its knee braces. The pale ground disc in the preview is viewer staging only and is not in the GLB. glb-lint reported 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: sibling overlap (hooks and dogs nest into the caps, rocks into each other), 'detached' caps, braces, lagging and cable (these rest on or joint into other parts rather than the ground), flat unindexed geometry, material count, and a 'scale' note for the 2.9 m height. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. It was verified PASS on a de-hyphenated copy, and three-check accepts the ids. Fix round 1 moved the cable hooks inboard of the knee braces they pierced and loosened the hero framing. Fix round 2 stopped the roof ore heap overhanging the lagging when there is only one set. Param extremes (1 set, 1.8 m span, 3.0 m posts, ore 1; and 4 sets, 3.2 m span, 1.8 m posts, ore 0) passed three-check.
About the Timber props 3D model
Timber props is a free low-poly 3D model from the Mine and Quarry set. It measures 3.8 m × 2.9 m × 2.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,072 triangles across 11 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 113 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Timber props 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 113 KB: 1,072 triangles, 3,216 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 3.8 m × 2.9 m × 2.3 m.
- Can I animate Timber props?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Timber props 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
