Lamps

A low-poly mobile quarry light tower: a yellow generator on a small two-wheel trailer, braced on four outrigger jacks, with a telescopic mast carrying a bar of four floodlights tipped down over the pit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Lamps for the Mine and Quarry kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Mine and Quarry kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Rock, dust and heavy machines. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: ochre #bd8728, slate #525e6f, machine yellow #eecd2b, rust #9b4427, ochre dark #7e5a1b, slate dark #323943, ochre light #d6a95c, slate light #7b8593, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `oreColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Ore colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 7.05 m tall with the mast at its 7.0 m default, and the footprint is about 4.0 × 3.3 m with the outriggers deployed (the trailer is 2.7 m long without the drawbar, the enclosure 2.3 × 1.2 × 1.2 m, the wheels 0.66 m across). The origin is the bottom centre of the footprint and the model rests on y = 0 on its tyres, jockey plate and four timber jack pads. The floodlights face +Z and the drawbar points to -X. The GLB has 2,152 triangles in 28 meshes (merged per part and colour), flat normals (non-indexed) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; the lens material adds an emissive and keeps the name 'warm white', so the same name can appear twice: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. oreColour (the kit's 'Ore colour') picks the pit-dust colour on the enclosure skirt in five palette steps (slate light, ochre light, rust, ochre, machine yellow), the same ore ramp as the other Mine and Quarry parts. The ochre, ochre dark and ochre light palette entries are not used at the default. lampCount comes in 2, 4 or 6 heads, set as one or two rows. The pale ground disc in the preview is viewer staging only and is not in the GLB. glb-lint reported 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: sibling overlap (nested wheel and chassis parts), 'detached' crank handles and a light bar mounted on the mast (a different part), flat unindexed geometry, material count, and a 'scale' note for the 7 m height. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. It was verified PASS on a de-hyphenated copy, and three-check accepts the ids. Fix round 1 removed two mast stays that read as a stray stick, replaced rust mud flaps that read as an orange slab end-on, and enlarged the floodlight heads. Fix round 2 loosened the hero framing so the front jack clears the controls bar. Param extremes (4.5 m mast, 6 heads, 40° tilt, ore 1) passed three-check.

About the Lamps 3D model

Lamps is a free low-poly 3D model from the Mine and Quarry set. It measures 4.0 m × 7.0 m × 3.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,152 triangles across 28 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 230 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Lamps 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 230 KB: 2,152 triangles, 6,456 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 7.0 m × 3.3 m.
Can I animate Lamps?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Lamps 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
