Shovels

A low-poly gravedigger's pair of shovels: a long round-point shovel planted blade-first in a mound of fresh grave dirt, with a D-grip spade leaning across its shaft. Loose clods, dead grass and a low band of moonlit fog sit around the heap.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Shovels for the Graveyard kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Graveyard kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Crooked stones under a big moon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: slate #525e6f, moonlight blue #2e67b8, dead-grass yellow #eecd2b, green glow #3a883a, slate dark #323943, moonlight blue dark #1f457a, slate light #7b8593, moonlight blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fog` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale. With the default settings the piece is 1.58 m tall to the shovel's end cap and covers about 1.23 m × 0.87 m including the fog. The digging shovel is 1.45 m long overall. It has a 0.23 m wide round-point blade, and about 8 cm of that blade is sunk into the heap. The D-grip spade is 1.00 m long with a 0.19 m square blade. The dirt mound is 0.95 m wide, 0.59 m deep and 0.23 m high. The origin is at the bottom centre and the model rests exactly on y = 0. The front (+Z) faces the shovel's scoop, and the spade leans in from the front-right. The spade's lean is solved at build time: its shaft touches the shovel's shaft, and its blade is bedded in the heap's flank (or rests on the ground when the spade is long enough to reach past the heap). It never cuts into the dirt anywhere in the param ranges. The fog param is the kit's Fog knob: it sets the height, reach and number of billows of the faceted mist skirt round the heap, and at 0 the fog mesh is left out of the export. Params rebuild the geometry, and the GLB holds the default build only. Static: no animation clip. Part ids use the shovels.* prefix because the kit's part-id pattern does not allow a hyphen in the root id. Every material is named with its exact Graveyard palette colour. The steel uses slate light and slate dark, and the fittings use mid grey. Dark wood is shared by the wooden shafts and the dirt heap. 1,336 triangles, 13 meshes, 109 KB at the default settings. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its 4 warnings were reviewed and are not defects: the exporter duplicates materials per mesh (7 unique colours), the flat-shaded meshes are non-indexed on purpose, and the grass, clods and fog overlap the heap on purpose. The OBJ export carries geometry only.
