Crypt entrance

A low-poly crypt entrance dug into an earth mound: a gabled slate portal with square columns, a keystone arch and a stone cross, with plank doors under a barred fanlight. One door stands ajar over a green glow, and low retaining walls, moss, dead grass and moonlit fog gather at the foot.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Crypt entrance for the Graveyard kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Graveyard kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Crooked stones under a big moon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: slate #525e6f, moonlight blue #2e67b8, dead-grass yellow #eecd2b, green glow #3a883a, slate dark #323943, moonlight blue dark #1f457a, slate light #7b8593, moonlight blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fog` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale with the default settings: 4.99 m tall to the top of the cross, 6.4 m wide across the end piers and 5.2 m deep from the bottom step to the back of the mound. The fog reaches about 1.5 m further out in front of the steps. The doorway is 1.1 m wide and 2.45 m to the top of the arch, and the doors are 1.8 m tall. The origin is at the bottom centre of the stone-and-mound footprint, and the model rests exactly on y = 0. The front (+Z) is the doorway. Fog is not counted when the origin is centred, so the origin does not move when the Fog knob changes. The fog param is the kit's Fog knob: it sets the number, reach and height of the opaque mist billows in front of the steps, and at 0 the fog mesh is left out. doorOpen swings the right leaf outward on its front hinge line (0 = shut, 1 = 75°). steps sets 1–4 risers, and the plinth, portal and mound crown rise with them. moundDepth sets how far the earth mound runs back. The short passage behind the doors is lined in soot black and ends in a lightly emissive green glow wall. The barred fanlight is backed with the same glow, and the moss shares that material. The mound is a back-half shell. The wing walls, the earth bank above them and the facade close its front, and its underside is open (it sits on the ground). Params rebuild the geometry, and the GLB holds the default build only. Static: no animation clip. Part ids use the graveyardcryptentrance.* prefix because the kit's part-id pattern does not allow hyphens. Every material is named with its exact Graveyard palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat (9 unique colours); recolour by material name. 2,880 triangles, 24 meshes, about 223 KB. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its 6 warnings were reviewed and are not defects: duplicated per-mesh materials, flat-shaded meshes that are non-indexed on purpose, pediment pieces that are nested on purpose, columns, cross and moss that are embedded rather than floating, and a 5 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. The OBJ export carries geometry only.
