Headstones in twelve shapes

A graveyard plot of twelve low-poly headstones in three rows, each a different classic form: gothic arch, Latin cross, Celtic ring cross, obelisk, round top, gable, ogee, trefoil, pillow marker, flat cap, broken tablet with its fallen top, and camelback. Every stone sits crooked in its own slate base, with dead grass, moss and low moonlit mist at their feet.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Headstones in twelve shapes for the Graveyard kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Graveyard kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Crooked stones under a big moon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: slate #525e6f, moonlight blue #2e67b8, dead-grass yellow #eecd2b, green glow #3a883a, slate dark #323943, moonlight blue dark #1f457a, slate light #7b8593, moonlight blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fog` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale. At the default settings the plot is 1.61 m tall (the obelisk tip) and the stones and bases cover about 3.5 m wide by 2.6 m deep. With the fog strips the footprint is about 4.2 m by 2.9 m. Each stone is shown at life size: the tablets are 0.52 to 0.60 m wide, 0.11 m thick and 0.66 to 1.0 m tall above their bases. The Latin cross stands about 1.27 m, the Celtic cross about 1.39 m, and the pillow marker 0.37 m. The origin is at the bottom centre and the model rests exactly on y = 0. Fronts face +Z. Back row, left to right: gothic arch, Latin cross, Celtic cross, obelisk. Middle row: round top, gable, ogee, trefoil. Front row: pillow marker, flat cap, broken tablet, camelback. Each stone is its own node group (headstones.<shape>), with a .base child and a .stone child, so you can split the set into twelve props. Each stone is sunk 5 cm into its base, so the base and stone overlap on purpose. The fog param is the kit's Fog knob: it sets how many flat mist strips lie in the aisles, and how tall and wide they are. At 0 the fog mesh is left out of the export. lean tilts each stone inside its base by a seeded amount, while the bases stay flat. stoneHeight scales every stone's height. spacing sets the grid pitch. Variation is seeded and deterministic. Params rebuild the geometry, and the GLB holds the default build only. Static: no animation clip. Part ids use the headstones.* prefix because the kit's part-id pattern does not allow hyphens. The darker panels are blank inscription fields with no text. Every material is named with its exact Graveyard palette colour. The exporter writes one material copy per mesh, so the file lists 56 materials, using the 9 palette names above. Recolour by material name. 3,020 triangles and 56 meshes (268 KB) at the defaults. Fog at 1 adds a few hundred triangles and stays well under 6,000. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings were reviewed and are not defects: the exporter duplicates materials per mesh, the flat-shaded meshes are non-indexed on purpose, the panels, moss and stones are embedded on purpose, and the Latin cross is flagged as detached only because its base lives in the parent group. The ground disc and lights in the preview are viewer staging only and are not in the GLB.
