Coffins

A low-poly graveyard coffin: a six-sided toe-pincher wooden coffin lying on the ground, iron-banded with three drop handles a side, its peaked lid pushed askew and lifted at the foot so a pale satin lining and a green glow show inside. Dead grass and a low band of moonlit fog gather at its base.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Coffins for the Graveyard kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Graveyard kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Crooked stones under a big moon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: slate #525e6f, moonlight blue #2e67b8, dead-grass yellow #eecd2b, green glow #3a883a, slate dark #323943, moonlight blue dark #1f457a, slate light #7b8593, moonlight blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fog` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale: at the default settings the coffin body is 1.95 m long and 0.66 m across the shoulders (0.44 m at the head, 0.33 m at the foot), 0.36 m tall to the rim and about 0.49 m with the lid closed. With the lid pushed askew the raised foot end brings the bounding height to 0.68 m, and the fog skirt spreads the footprint to about 2.86 x 1.48 m. The origin is at the bottom centre and the model rests exactly on y = 0; the long axis runs along X with the head at -X and the foot at +X, handles face +Z and -Z, and the lid's foot end swings toward -Z so the lining shows from the front (+Z). The body is a real hollow: three plank courses with 40 mm walls, a floor board, a satin lining tray and a lightly emissive green glow slab inside. lidAjar yaws the lid about the rim centre and lifts its foot end on a hinge along the head edge; at 0 the lid is closed and flush on the rim. fog is the kit's Fog knob: it sets the height, reach and billow count of the faceted mist skirt, and at 0 the fog mesh is left out of the export. handles sets the drop handles per long side (2-4). Params rebuild the geometry, and the GLB holds the default build only. Static: no animation clip. Part ids use the coffins.* prefix because the kit's part-id pattern does not allow hyphens. Every material is named exactly its Graveyard palette colour; the exporter clones materials per mesh, so the file lists 10 materials carrying 7 unique palette names. 1,484 triangles, 10 meshes, 117 KB. glb-lint reports 0 errors; its warnings were reviewed and are not defects: per-mesh material clones, non-indexed flat-shaded meshes by design, intended embedded joins (floor board, bands, lining, glow and handle plates sunk into the planks), and the lid panel flagged as detached only because it sits on a 1.5 mm rim clearance inside its hinge group. The viewer lowers the direction's sun from 2.8 to 2.3 so the satin lining keeps its facets; that is staging only and not in the GLB. The OBJ export carries geometry only.
