Tools

A low-poly back-garden tool stand: a timber rail on splayed feet with a spade, a digging fork, a soil rake and a draw hoe leaning against it, and a wooden trug with a trowel at its foot. A Season knob changes what is in the trug and how much soil is on the spade and fork.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tools for the Garden and Patio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Garden and Patio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A back garden through the seasons. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, terracotta #be5937, wood #7d5736, flower pinks #e085a3, grass green dark #235223, terracotta dark #823d26, grass green light #5db15d, terracotta light #d08971, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2.10 m wide (X) × 0.72 m deep (Z) × 1.52 m tall, which includes the trug beside the stand. The stand rail is 0.75 m high, the spade and fork are 1.0 m long, and the rake and hoe handles are 1.5 m. Origin at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0, front facing +Z. The GLB has 1,652 triangles in 29 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat; recolour by name. season (the kit's 'Season'; 0 = early spring, 0.5 = high summer, 1 = late autumn) changes the trug contents and the soil on the tools. Below 0.3 the trug holds three terracotta pots of seedlings; from 0.3 to 0.7 it holds summer greens and sweet peas; from 0.7 it holds a heap of autumn leaves. Soil on the spade edge and between the fork tines grows through the year. Off-default values add 'terracotta dark' and 'terracotta light' and drop the greens. toolCount 2 keeps the spade and rake, and 3 adds the fork. Ids for the tools left out are then absent. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 expected warnings: a material count over 10 and duplicate materials (both from the per-mesh export), non-indexed geometry (kept on purpose for hard flat facets), and sibling overlap (single-colour meshes nested within one part). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 8 ids. The viewer uses exposure 0.65; this does not affect the GLB.

About the Tools 3D model

Tools is a free low-poly 3D model from the Garden and Patio set. It measures 2.1 m × 1.5 m × 72 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,652 triangles across 29 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 142 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tools 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 142 KB: 1,652 triangles, 4,956 vertices and 29 materials, modelled in metres at 2.1 m × 1.5 m × 72 cm.
Can I animate Tools?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tools 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
