Sprinkler

A low-poly oscillating lawn sprinkler: a green sled base, a terracotta water-motor housing with a drive dial, and a grey spray tube throwing a fan of white water jets, fed by a garden hose. It has a seamless 4 s loop: the spray tube rocks side to side and the dial turns once.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Sprinkler for the Garden and Patio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Garden and Patio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A back garden through the seasons. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, terracotta #be5937, wood #7d5736, flower pinks #e085a3, grass green dark #235223, terracotta dark #823d26, grass green light #5db15d, terracotta light #d08971, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale: the sled is 0.57 m long × 0.17 m wide, the body stands 0.155 m tall and the water jets reach 0.38 m at the default summer season (hose runs about 0.17 m further out at −X). Materials are named after the kit palette colours (grass green dark, grass green, grass green light, terracotta, terracotta dark, terracotta light, mid grey, soot black, warm white; flower pinks and wood appear only with seasonal scatter). Water is modelled as solid flat-shaded jets and droplets that rock with the tube. Season sets jet reach (longest in midsummer) and scatters blossom petals in spring (season < 0.35) or fallen leaves in autumn (season > 0.65) as an extra 'fallen_leaves' part; those, like tube length and nozzle count, are build-time params baked into the GLB at their default values. Sweep sets the rocking amplitude of the baked clip. The 4 s clip rocks the spray tube about its axle line and turns the drive dial about its spindle; the base, housing, end post and hose never move. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the GLB holds 17 material entries using 9 palette names. 1,988 triangles. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library mandates; the plan passed on a de-hyphenated copy, and three-check accepts the real ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors (verdict UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract is supplied).

About the Sprinkler 3D model

Sprinkler is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Garden and Patio set. It measures 82 cm × 38 cm × 32 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,988 triangles across 17 meshes, with 7 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 169 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Sprinkler 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 169 KB: 1,988 triangles, 5,964 vertices and 17 materials, modelled in metres at 82 cm × 38 cm × 32 cm.
Is Sprinkler animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Sprinkler 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
