Swing seat

A low-poly garden canopy swing: a wooden A-frame with a striped awning, and a slatted two-seater bench with arms and cushions that hangs on V-chains and swings gently in a seamless loop.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Swing seat for the Garden and Patio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Garden and Patio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A back garden through the seasons. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, terracotta #be5937, wood #7d5736, flower pinks #e085a3, grass green dark #235223, terracotta dark #823d26, grass green light #5db15d, terracotta light #d08971, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 2.38 m wide over the canopy, 1.76 m deep over the ground runners and 2.24 m tall to the canopy ridge. The bench is 1.5 m wide with its seat 0.46 m above the ground. The origin is the bottom centre on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. The bench is one pivot group whose origin is on the eye-bolt axis under the top beam; it carries the cushions and chains as child parts. The 4.8 s clip 'scene-motion' rotates it about X (two whole swings per loop, ±12° by default) and loops seamlessly. The frame, canopy, eye bolts and tufts never move. The GLB has 2,208 triangles in 12 meshes. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names repeat; recolour by name. Only the colours used at the default season are in the GLB. season is the kit's 'Season' (0 = early spring, 0.5 = high summer, 1 = late autumn). It changes the cushion fabric (grass green light → terracotta → terracotta dark) and the tufts at the runner ends (pink-flowered light green → green → dark green with fallen terracotta leaves). Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; swingAmplitude only changes the viewer's motion and the baked clip. Both param extremes pass three-check: (width 1.8, height 1.8, amplitude 20, season 1) and (width 1.2, height 2.2, amplitude 0, season 0). glb-lint: 0 errors. Its warnings are expected. Sibling overlap comes from legs housed in the beam, cleats and runners. 'Detached' flags the eye bolts and chains, which hang from the beam. Flat shading makes the meshes non-indexed, and the scale warning only compares against a 1 m reference. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes.

About the Swing seat 3D model

Swing seat is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Garden and Patio set. It measures 2.4 m × 2.2 m × 2.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,208 triangles across 12 meshes, with 8 named parts and a baked animation (4.8 s). Download the 178 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Swing seat 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 178 KB: 2,208 triangles, 6,624 vertices and 12 materials, modelled in metres at 2.4 m × 2.2 m × 2.1 m.
Is Swing seat animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.8 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Swing seat 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
