Pond

A low-poly back-garden pond: dark still water inside a ring of flat stone coping set into a turf collar, with a timber deck and terracotta pot at the front, rafts of lily pads with pink water lilies, and a stand of reeds and iris at the back.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Pond for the Garden and Patio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Garden and Patio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A back garden through the seasons. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, terracotta #be5937, wood #7d5736, flower pinks #e085a3, grass green dark #235223, terracotta dark #823d26, grass green light #5db15d, terracotta light #d08971, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 4.57 m wide (x) by 3.6 m deep (z) across the turf collar, 1.35 m tall to the tallest reed tip at the defaults. The water is about 3.0 m by 2.0 m with its surface at 0.06 m, under coping stones topping out at 0.13 m; the deck is 1.5 m wide at 0.2 m. Origin is the bottom centre on y = 0 and the deck faces +Z. The GLB has 2,616 triangles in 20 meshes and no animation clip; normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; multi-colour parts are groups with one mesh per colour, so names repeat (recolour by name). The water is soot black because the kit palette has no blue; it reads as deep still pond water. season (kit 'Season', 0 early spring, 0.5 high summer, 1 late autumn) grows the reeds and lily pads toward summer, opens the lilies, iris and cushion flowers around summer (closed green buds otherwise), browns the reeds from 0.7 and drifts up to 30 fallen leaves on the water from 0.6. The 'wood', 'terracotta light' meshes for leaves/browned reeds only exist at autumn values. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; season 0 and 1 were also run through three-check (PASS). glb-lint: 0 errors, 4 heuristic warnings, all expected (duplicate material names from one-material-per-mesh, non-indexed flat shading, deliberate nested overlaps of turf/water/coping/reeds). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. Fix rounds: hero framing tightened; deck boards overlapped onto bearers (glb-lint detached) and pebbles/cushion lifted above y = 0; lilies kept as closed buds out of season so the part id never disappears.

About the Pond 3D model

Pond is a free low-poly 3D model from the Garden and Patio set. It measures 4.6 m × 1.3 m × 3.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,616 triangles across 20 meshes, with 11 named parts. Download the 202 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Pond 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 202 KB: 2,616 triangles, 7,848 vertices and 20 materials, modelled in metres at 4.6 m × 1.3 m × 3.6 m.
Can I animate Pond?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 11 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Pond 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
