Cabin

A low-poly one-room log cabin with crossed log corners, a green standing-seam roof that runs out over an open front porch, a stone chimney, an orange door with a lantern, shuttered windows and a firewood stack. Built at real size for a woodland campground scene.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Cabin for the Campground kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Campground kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tents, vans and a lake. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: forest green #3a883a, canvas tan #bf9769, flame orange #ed7e1d, lake blue #2e67b8, forest green dark #235223, canvas tan dark #9a7142, forest green light #5db15d, canvas tan light #d2bca2, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: log walls 4.6 m wide × 4.0 m deep on their centrelines, with a 1.6 m front porch. Counting roof overhangs, the chimney, steps and firewood, the model is about 6.0 m wide × 6.8 m deep. It is 4.5 m to the ridge and 5.0 m to the chimney cap. The plinth rests on y = 0, the origin is at the bottom centre of the bounding box, and the porch faces +Z. The GLB has 5,157 triangles in 31 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a Campground palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names appear more than once; recolour by name. Lake blue is the only palette colour not used for wood or stone, and here it is the window glass. season (the kit's 'Season'; 0 = spring, 0.5 = summer, 0.75 = autumn, 1 = winter) recolours the shrubs (light green, green, orange, then dark evergreen) and grows the firewood stack from one row to four. From 0.82 up it lays snow on the roof as an extra part 'campground-cabin.snow' (Roof snow), which is absent at the default and so absent from the GLB. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The defaults passed three-check, and so did one combined extreme (season 1, width 3.8, depth 3.2, porchDepth 1.0). glb-lint: 0 errors. Its warnings are expected: the duplicate materials come from the per-mesh export; geometry is non-indexed to keep hard flat facets; sibling overlap is the interlocking logs and the frames set into the openings; 'detached' flags the chimney cap, which sits flush on the stack; and the scale warning appears because a cabin is taller than the 1 m reference. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 14 ids.

About the Cabin 3D model

Cabin is a free low-poly 3D model from the Campground set. It measures 6.0 m × 5.0 m × 6.9 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,157 triangles across 31 meshes, with 14 named parts. Download the 516 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Cabin 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 516 KB: 5,157 triangles, 15,471 vertices and 31 materials, modelled in metres at 6.0 m × 5.0 m × 6.9 m.
Can I animate Cabin?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 14 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Cabin 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
