Cider barn

A low-poly red gambrel farm barn with cream trim, X-braced sliding doors, a hay-loft hoist and a cupola topped by a gold apple weathervane. An open lean-to on one side shelters a wooden cider press and barrels, and crates of apples are stacked by the doors.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Cider barn for the Autumn Orchard kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Autumn Orchard kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Harvest time on a small farm. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: russet #988e81, apple red #c32222, gold #d0a225, cream #f1e7d0, russet dark #70685c, apple red dark #821717, russet light #b6b3af, apple red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 9.5 m wide (x, barn 6.1 m plus a 2.9 m lean-to) × 10.6 m deep (z, an 8.5 m barn plus roof overhang, hoist beam, crates and ramp) × 8.9 m tall to the weathervane (ridge about 6.4 m). Origin is at the bottom centre of the whole footprint, resting on y = 0; the gable with the sliding doors faces +Z. The GLB has 5,324 triangles in 41 meshes and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12 used; warm white is not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. season (the kit's 'Season', 0 = early harvest, 1 = late autumn) stacks 2 to 6 apple crates by the doors, shifts the apples from red toward gold and dark late fruit, and heaps up the leaf piles at the plinth. barnLength and wallHeight resize the barn, and the lean-to follows. doorOpen slides the two door leaves along their track over a dark interior panel; the barn has no modelled interior. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. The crates hold a hidden apple-red-dark fill block so the apples rest on something. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected: more than 10 materials and duplicate names (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat shading, overlapping sibling boxes (trim, battens and props nested on the walls and floors), and the scale check for a subject taller than 1 m. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 12 survive the GLB reload. Fix rounds: (1) the russet-dark roof washed out to pale taupe against the stage, so the roofs were changed to dark wood, and flat gold leaf drifts that read as puddles were replaced with small heaped leaf piles; (2) the lean-to fascia was embedded 5 mm into its roof to clear a glb-lint 'detached' flag.

About the Cider barn 3D model

Cider barn is a free low-poly 3D model from the Autumn Orchard set. It measures 9.5 m × 8.9 m × 11 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,324 triangles across 41 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 408 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Cider barn 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 408 KB: 5,324 triangles, 15,972 vertices and 41 materials, modelled in metres at 9.5 m × 8.9 m × 11 m.
Can I animate Cider barn?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Cider barn 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
