Control tower
A low-poly airport air-traffic control tower: a tapered octagonal shaft topped by an outward-leaning glass cab with a railed catwalk, a radome and an antenna mast, standing on a two-storey base building with a glazed entrance.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Control tower for the Airport Terminal kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Airport Terminal kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Check-in to gate. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: cool grey #7c7e83, navy #1c2a54, signal yellow #ffdb29, white #f4f1ec, cool grey dark #57585c, navy dark #090d1b, cool grey light #a6a6a6, navy light #344989, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `airlineLivery` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Airline livery" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 36.87 m from the ground to the mast beacon (roof cap at about 31.4 m). The base building is 12 m wide (x), 9 m deep (z) and 6.7 m tall to its parapet, and the entrance canopy projects 1.6 m forward, so the footprint is about 12.2 × 10.7 m. The cab roof is 9.8 m across. The entrance faces +Z, the origin is at the bottom centre and the model rests on y = 0. The GLB has 2,196 triangles in 28 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed), so the facets survive in any engine. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. 8 of the 12 kit colours are used; navy light, warm white, mid grey and dark wood are not. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The cab glass is opaque navy dark, not transparent, and there is no interior. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. airlineLivery (the kit's 'Airline livery') sets the height of the signal-yellow ring under the catwalk (0.15–0.9 m) and the parapet stripe (0.08–0.4 m). It does not change hue. shaftHeight (10–24 m) sets the tower's total height to about 31–45 m. cabFacets (6–12) sets the number of sides on the cab, deck, catwalk and roof. baseWidth (9–16 m) resizes the base building. Every setting stays far under the 10,000-triangle budget. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings. Material count and duplicate materials come from the per-mesh materials. Unindexed geometry is deliberate flat shading. Sibling overlap comes from window bands, trims and mullions that are embedded on purpose. 'Detached' flags the catwalk railing, which stands on the deck part's slab, a different part. Scale compares the height with the direction's 1 m reference. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.
About the Control tower 3D model
Control tower is a free low-poly 3D model from the Airport Terminal set. It measures 12 m × 37 m × 11 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,196 triangles across 28 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 178 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Control tower 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 178 KB: 2,196 triangles, 6,588 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 12 m × 37 m × 11 m.
- Can I animate Control tower?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Control tower 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
