Fuel canopy
A low-poly retro filling-station canopy: a cherry-red fascia roof with chrome and mint pinstripes on two chrome columns, over a kerbed pump island with two globe-topped fuel pumps, holstered hoses and mint bollards.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Fuel canopy for the Roadside Diner kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Roadside Diner kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A lonely stop on a long road. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: chrome #cad1d8, cherry red #c32222, mint #90d5b3, desert tan #bf9769, chrome dark #9eabb7, cherry red dark #821717, chrome light #f7f7f8, cherry red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 8.06 m wide (X) × 5.06 m deep (Z) × 5.73 m tall, with 4.6 m drive-under clearance under the soffit. The pump island is 6.92 m × 1.2 m × 0.2 m and runs along X under the roof. The pumps are about 1.9 m tall to the top of the globe. The front faces +Z, the origin is at the bottom centre and the model rests on y = 0 (the island kerb is the only ground contact). The exported model has 1,670 triangles in 24 meshes and is static, with no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 10 of the 12 are used (cherry red light and dark wood are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era') runs from a 1950s canopy (0: the front edge sweeps up 0.6 m into a wing, the fascia is 0.6 m deep, the pump globes are large) to a 1970s flat box (1: a level 1.0 m fascia, smaller globes). clearance raises the roof. width scales the roof and moves the columns, island and bollards with it. pumps sets 1–3 pumps, spaced evenly between the columns. Only the default params were rendered and checked; the extremes were checked on paper for clearances but not captured. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings. Two come from the per-mesh materials (material count and duplicates). One flags non-indexed geometry, which is deliberate flat shading. One flags overlaps where columns sit inside their kick plates and the deck sits on the roof, which is deliberate nesting. One flags the fascia pinstripes and bollard caps as 'detached': they sit flush against the fascia and the bollards. One flags the 5.73 m height against a generic 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. With the ids substituted it passes. three-check accepts the real ids, and all 9 survive the GLB reload.
About the Fuel canopy 3D model
Fuel canopy is a free low-poly 3D model from the Roadside Diner set. It measures 8.1 m × 5.7 m × 5.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,380 triangles across 22 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 116 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Fuel canopy 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 116 KB: 1,380 triangles, 4,140 vertices and 22 materials, modelled in metres at 8.1 m × 5.7 m × 5.1 m.
- Can I animate Fuel canopy?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Fuel canopy 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
