Engine shed
A low-poly steam-era brick engine shed with two round-arched doorways, braced green doors swung open and rails running into the dark interior. It has pilastered side walls with tall arched iron windows, a slate roof with a louvred smoke vent along the ridge, a water tank on brick piers and a red stop board.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Engine shed for the Railway Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Railway Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Platforms, signals and a grand hall. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick #9e3d2e, iron green #3a883a, cream #f1e7d0, signal red #e90c0c, brick dark #63261d, iron green dark #235223, brick light #c66253, iron green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 14.8 m wide (x), 25.8 m deep (z) and 10.9 m tall to the smoke-vent ridge (default params). The shed itself is 10.6 m x 21.6 m (two roads at 4.6 m centres, six 3.6 m bays). It is 6.2 m to the eaves under a 30° slate roof, with 3.4 m wide doorways arched to 5.7 m. The water tank stands 0.9 m off the +x wall and 4 m track stubs run out of the doors, so the footprint is wider and longer than the building. The front faces +Z, the origin is at the bottom centre of the whole footprint, and the model rests on y = 0. The GLB has 6,044 triangles in 35 meshes (merged per part and colour) and about 7,500 with every param at its maximum. It has no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour, and all 12 kit colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so recolour by name. There is no interior: the doorways show a dark recess 3 m deep. The track stubs end at the apron and line up with standard-gauge (1.435 m) kit track. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era') sets the iron glazing from small panes (0) to large ones (1). It also swaps the continuous louvred ridge lantern (below 0.6) for separate smoke stacks over each bay (0.6 and above). roads (1–3) sets the width and the number of doorways and tracks. bays (4–8) sets the length. doorsOpen swings the door leaves from shut (0) to 90° (1). glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings (material count, duplicate per-mesh materials, unindexed flat-shaded geometry, sibling overlap from trims embedded in walls on purpose, a 'detached' flag on the stone window cills, which are embedded 6 cm into the walls, and scale compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 10 survive the GLB reload.
About the Engine shed 3D model
Engine shed is a free low-poly 3D model from the Railway Station set. It measures 15 m × 11 m × 26 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 6,044 triangles across 35 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 454 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Engine shed 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 454 KB: 6,044 triangles, 18,132 vertices and 35 materials, modelled in metres at 15 m × 11 m × 26 m.
- Can I animate Engine shed?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Engine shed 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
