Water tower
A low-poly British railway water tower. A square brick tower with round-arched windows holds up a cast-iron sectional tank of flanged iron-green panels under a hipped slate cover. It has a level gauge, a side ladder and a swinging delivery arm with a leather bag for filling locomotives.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Water tower for the Railway Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Railway Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Platforms, signals and a grand hall. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick #9e3d2e, iron green #3a883a, cream #f1e7d0, signal red #e90c0c, brick dark #63261d, iron green dark #235223, brick light #c66253, iron green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 9.67 m tall at the default params. The brick tower is 4.4 × 4.4 m and 5.0 m tall. It carries a 0.35 m girder deck and a 5.2 × 5.2 × 2.4 m tank, about 65 m³ of water, under a 1.2 m hipped cover with a vent. The whole footprint is about 7.4 m (x) by 6.9 m (z) once you include the ladder on the +x side and the delivery arm out front. The origin is the bottom centre of the brick tower, not the centre of the bounding box, so the tower stays on the same spot whatever the arm swing. The model rests on y = 0 and the door and arm face +Z, toward the track. The GLB has 3,264 triangles in 27 meshes and no animation clip. Meshes are merged per part and colour, with flat normals baked in (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour, and 11 of the 12 colours are used (iron green light is not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era') runs from an early tower (0: steep cover with a finial and finer glazing bars) to a later one (1: flat window heads with brick lintels and a flat lid with a safety railing and hatch). The cover switches at 0.6, the arches at 0.7 and the finial drops at 0.45. towerHeight and tankHeight rebuild the tower; the tank gains a third panel row above about 3 m. armSwing turns the delivery arm from parallel to the track (0°) to straight out over it (90°). One extreme combination (era 1, tower 4.0 m, tank 3.2 m, swing 90°) was also rendered and passed three-check and glb-lint; other combinations were not rendered. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected: material count, duplicate per-mesh materials, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, sibling overlap from trims set into the walls on purpose, and scale compared with a 1 m reference. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 9 survive the GLB reload.
About the Water tower 3D model
Water tower is a free low-poly 3D model from the Railway Station set. It measures 7.4 m × 9.7 m × 6.9 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,264 triangles across 27 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 252 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Water tower 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 252 KB: 3,264 triangles, 9,792 vertices and 27 materials, modelled in metres at 7.4 m × 9.7 m × 6.9 m.
- Can I animate Water tower?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Water tower 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
