Spare limbs

Spare parts for a giant repair-bay robot: an armoured mech leg held upright in a safety-yellow standing jig and a mech arm with a forearm missile pod and three-fingered hand resting on padded cradles, all on a hazard-striped transport skid.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Spare limbs for the Mech Hangar kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Mech Hangar kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A bay where giant robots are repaired. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: steel grey #757e8a, safety yellow #ffdd33, navy #1c2a54, red #c32222, steel grey dark #525860, safety yellow dark #e6bf00, steel grey light #a3a5a8, safety yellow light #ffea80, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mechColourAndLoadout` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mech colour and loadout" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Default size 7.2 m long × 3.0 m deep × 4.97 m tall, sized for the kit's ~10 m mech. The leg stands 4.2 m from skid deck to hip flange and the arm is about 4.9 m from shoulder socket to fingertips. Origin is at bottom centre and the front (+Z) shows the hand's palm side and the leg's toes. 2,260 triangles and 10 flat-shaded materials, each named after the palette colour it uses. Static, with no animation clip. mechColourAndLoadout sets the armour colour (warm white below 0.33, navy up to 0.66, red above; sockets turn warm white when the armour is red) and the forearm loadout (bare hardpoint rail, then a 6-tube missile pod, then a twin cannon). legHeight stretches the shin and thigh, and the jig's clamp follows the knee. fingerCurl closes the hand. Each part has an outer node with the library id (mech-hangar-spare-limbs.*) and an inner '<part>-meshes' node with the hyphen-free id the kit's plan validator needs (mechhangarsparelimbs.*). glb-lint reports 0 errors and 3 heuristic warnings, all expected: deliberately nested or embedded part boxes; the pod mount touching the forearm, which is a different part; and a ~5 m height against the direction's 1 m reference.
