Hangar shell

A steel-framed repair hangar for giant robots: a faceted barrel roof on chunky portal-frame ribs, a hazard-striped door header over telescoping sliding doors, and a yellow gantry crane over a marked service pad inside. Part of the Mech Hangar kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Hangar shell for the Mech Hangar kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Mech Hangar kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A bay where giant robots are repaired. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: steel grey #757e8a, safety yellow #ffdd33, navy #1c2a54, red #c32222, steel grey dark #525860, safety yellow dark #e6bf00, steel grey light #a3a5a8, safety yellow light #ffea80, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `mechColourAndLoadout` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Mech colour and loadout" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Static building at real-world scale: the hangar is about 31.6 m wide x 41.2 m long x 22.1 m high at default params (5 bays of 8 m, 6 m roof rise); with the concrete slab and front apron the footprint is 33 m x 49.5 m. The door opening is 22 m x 13 m, sized for a mech of about 12 m. The origin is at the bottom centre of the slab, front faces +Z, and the ground disc is stage-only, not in the model. bayCount changes the length, roofRise the height of the 9-facet barrel roof, and doorOpen slides the six telescoping door leaves from closed to stacked. mechColourAndLoadout is the kit knob: it picks the livery band colour on the walls, doors and rear (red below 0.33, navy at the 0.5 default, steel grey dark above 0.67) and moves the gantry crane along the bay, centred over the service pad at 0.5. Part ids use the slug sanitized to mechhangarhangarshell because the kit's part-id grammar does not allow hyphens. The exporter clones each mesh's material, so the GLB lists 39 materials, but they share 10 names, all exact palette colours (safety yellow light and dark wood are not used). The lint's material-count, duplicate-materials, unindexed, sibling-overlap, detached-parts and scale warnings follow from that, from the deliberate embedded joins, and from the intended building scale. The GLB has no animation clips.
