Parade float

A low-poly Lunar New Year parade float: a red skirted deck on four wheels carrying a big red-and-gold zodiac dragon head that looks around and chomps, a two-tier pavilion topped by a spinning flaming pearl, swaying red lanterns and plum-blossom trees.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Parade float for the Lunar New Year Street kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Lunar New Year Street kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A street dressed for the festival. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: red #c32222, gold #d0a225, peach blossom pink #e085a3, black #151619, red dark #821717, gold dark #8f7019, red light #db5757, gold light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `zodiacAnimal` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Zodiac animal" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world street-float scale: deck 5.4 × 2.3 m at 0.96 m deck height; overall about 3.9 m tall, 3.1 m wide across the side lanterns and 6.2 m long including the head's overhang. Units are metres, origin at the bottom centre of the deck, front (+Z) is the dragon head, and the tyres rest on a flat facet exactly at y = 0. 4,068 triangles. Baked clip 'scene-motion' (6 s, seamless): the head turns once and nods twice about its neck swivel, the jaw chomps twice about its hinge, each lantern swings about its hook, and the pearl turns one revolution on its stem. Chassis, wheels, deck, neck, poles and pavilion never move. The GLB rest pose is t = 0, with the head turned slightly toward +X. zodiacAnimal ('Zodiac animal') reshapes the head: 0 = ox (broad muzzle, sideways horns), 0.5 = dragon (long snout, swept horns with tines, whiskers, full mane), 1 = rabbit (short muzzle, tall pink-lined ears, no horns). Values in between blend. lanternPairs sets the number of side lantern poles (the four pavilion-eave lanterns are always present). deckLength stretches the deck, and the head, poles and pavilion keep their spacing. neckHeight raises or lowers the head swivel. Part ids use the slug with its hyphens removed ('lunarnewyearstreetparadefloat.*') because the kit's part-id schema does not allow hyphens. Each lantern is also its own registered part (lunarnewyearstreetparadefloat.lanterns.side_l0 … eave_rf) so its sway bakes into the clip. Every material is flat-shaded, metalness 0, roughness 0.9–1.0, untextured, and named exactly after its palette colour (10 colours). The runtime's exporter writes one material instance per mesh, so the GLB carries repeated copies of those 10 palette-named materials; dedupe them by name if needed. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its verdict is UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. The 6 warnings are heuristic and expected: per-mesh material copies, non-indexed primitives (deliberate flat facets), sibling overlaps (the skirt hem/band and the coin bosses are intentionally nested), 'detached' merged meshes that are embedded in their neighbours, and the 3.9 m height, which is the intended real-world scale.

About the Parade float 3D model

Parade float is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Lunar New Year Street set. It measures 3.2 m × 3.9 m × 6.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,068 triangles across 76 meshes, with 17 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 517 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Parade float 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 517 KB: 4,068 triangles, 12,204 vertices and 76 materials, modelled in metres at 3.2 m × 3.9 m × 6.3 m.
Is Parade float animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Parade float 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
