Typewriter
A low-poly 1930s-style manual desk typewriter in green enamel with a brass pinstripe, four stepped rows of round brass-ringed keys, a typebar fan between two brass ribbon spools, and a carriage with a black platen, return lever and a sheet of paper.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Typewriter for the Library and Study kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Library and Study kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall shelves and a reading chair. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mahogany #602b20, forest green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, parchment #e6d6b3, mahogany dark #26110d, forest green dark #235223, mahogany light #944738, forest green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bookColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Book colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.33 m tall to the top of the paper (0.18 m to the platen axis), 0.40 m wide across the platen knobs and return lever, and 0.33 m deep, with a 0.30 × 0.31 m body. That is a typical full-size manual desk typewriter. Origin: bottom centre; the model rests on y = 0 on four rubber feet, and the keyboard faces +Z. The GLB has 4,088 triangles in 15 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's 4,378-triangle figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Each part is a group holding one mesh per palette colour (e.g. keyboard.brass). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; there are 15 material entries because the exporter writes one per mesh, but only 5 distinct names at the default. Keys and paper are blank: no letters, text or brand. bookColours (the kit's 'Book colours') picks the body enamel along a kit ramp: soot black (0–0.2), mahogany dark, forest green dark (default 0.5), mahogany, forest green (0.8–1). carriage slides the whole carriage ±6 cm along the rail, so non-zero values shift the bounds off-centre. paper sets how much sheet stands above the platen; at 0 only a white wrap round the platen remains. keyRows switches between 3 and 4 key rows. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extremes passed three-check: colours 1 / carriage +0.06 / paper 0 / 3 rows, and colours 0 / carriage -0.06 / paper 0.22 / 4 rows. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings. They cover the per-mesh material count, duplicate per-mesh materials, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, per-colour sibling meshes nesting inside a part, and parts sitting on top of the body that are reported as detached because they touch across part groups. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 7 planned ids. Fix round 1: the carriage default moved from 2 cm off-centre to 0, so the model's origin is at its true bottom centre.
About the Typewriter 3D model
Typewriter is a free low-poly 3D model from the Library and Study set. It measures 40 cm × 33 cm × 36 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,088 triangles across 15 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 301 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Typewriter 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 301 KB: 4,088 triangles, 12,264 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 40 cm × 33 cm × 36 cm.
- Can I animate Typewriter?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Typewriter 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
