Books
A low-poly arrangement of hardback books: a row of upright books in leather and green covers held by a brass bookend, beside a flat stack topped by an open book. It is ready to dress a desk, table or shelf.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Books for the Library and Study kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Library and Study kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall shelves and a reading chair. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mahogany #602b20, forest green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, parchment #e6d6b3, mahogany dark #26110d, forest green dark #235223, mahogany light #944738, forest green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bookColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Book colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.67 m wide (X), 0.26 m tall and 0.22 m deep. The tallest upright book is about 0.26 m, a normal large hardback. Origin: the bottom centre of the footprint, resting on y = 0, with the spines facing +Z. The GLB has 684 triangles in 15 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's 974-triangle figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every book has two cover boards, a spine and a page block inset 4 mm, so it reads as a book from every side: the page fore-edges show at the back and the page tops show from above. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The GLB lists some names more than once because the exporter clones materials per mesh, and it uses only the palette colours present at the default seed. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. bookColours (the kit's 'Book colours') sets the share of covers drawn from forest greens and mid grey instead of leather browns and black: 0 gives all leather, 1 gives about 70 % bright. Brass is kept for the bookend and spine bands. The layout comes from a fixed seed, so only the colours move with bookColours. count (3–12) sets the upright books, stack (0–5) sets the flat stack, and openBook toggles the open book; with no stack, the open book lies on the surface. The max extreme (12 books, stack 5, colours 1) passed three-check at 1,068 GLB triangles. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, covering exporter duplicate materials, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), overlapping sibling boxes (page blocks nest inside their covers), and a 0.26 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. Fix rounds: (1) brass was taken off the cover list so the bookend stays the only big metal mass, and the hero was framed tighter; (2) the hero was loosened so the bookend foot is not cropped.
About the Books 3D model
Books is a free low-poly 3D model from the Library and Study set. It measures 67 cm × 26 cm × 22 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 684 triangles across 15 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 62 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Books 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 62 KB: 684 triangles, 2,052 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 67 cm × 26 cm × 22 cm.
- Can I animate Books?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Books 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
