Room modules

A low-poly 4 × 4 m corner tile of a child's bedroom: pale pine plank floor, two sky-blue walls with a coral dado rail over a painted wainscot, a white-framed window with sunshine-yellow curtains, painted clouds, a growth chart, a toy shelf with blocks and a segmented round play rug. Tiles chain or mirror into a full room.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Room modules for the Kids' Bedroom kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Kids' Bedroom kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Toys, bunk beds and a fort. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sky blue #2e67b8, sunshine yellow #eecd2b, coral #e2715a, white #f4f1ec, sky blue dark #1f457a, sunshine yellow dark #bda00f, sky blue light #6190d1, sunshine yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ageOfChild` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Age of child" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: an exact 4.0 × 4.0 m footprint (x, z from −2 to +2) with the origin at the tile centre on y = 0. Walls are 0.15 m thick and 2.6 m tall (2.62 m including the cornice). The back wall stands flush on the −Z edge and the left wall on the −X edge, and both have identical sections at their open ends, so tiles chain into longer walls or mirror into a full room. The floor is a 0.1 m slab topped by pine planks. The window sill is 0.95 m above the floor. The GLB has 1,984 triangles in 25 meshes (merged per part and palette colour) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. 10 of the 12 are used; warm white is not, and sunshine yellow dark is not. 'mid grey' is used only for the window glass, which is semi-transparent (alpha blend). Params are baked at export, so the GLB is the default build. ageOfChild steps the wainscot paint (sunshine yellow light < 0.33 ≤ white < 0.67 ≤ sky blue dark), raises the toy shelf and the growth-chart marker, and swaps the round segmented play mat (below 0.6) for a striped rectangular rug (0.6 and above). plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS); three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for this pipeline: per-part material instances (25 > 10), non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested trims overlapping walls, and a scale heuristic tuned for 1 m props.

About the Room modules 3D model

Room modules is a free low-poly 3D model from the Kids' Bedroom set. It measures 4.0 m × 2.6 m × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,984 triangles across 25 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 160 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Room modules 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 160 KB: 1,984 triangles, 5,952 vertices and 25 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 2.6 m × 4.0 m.
Can I animate Room modules?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Room modules 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
