How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Bunk bed for the Kids' Bedroom kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Kids' Bedroom kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Toys, bunk beds and a fort. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sky blue #2e67b8, sunshine yellow #eecd2b, coral #e2715a, white #f4f1ec, sky blue dark #1f457a, sunshine yellow dark #bda00f, sky blue light #6190d1, sunshine yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ageOfChild` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Age of child" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the default: 1.95 m long (x), 1.12 m deep (z) including the ladder, and 1.72 m tall to the top of the post knobs. The mattresses are 1.75 × 0.90 m, the top bunk's mattress is at 1.35 m and the guard rail rises 0.30 m above it. The ladder side faces +Z, and the origin is at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0. The exported model has 1,904 triangles in 24 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). All 12 kit colours are used, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. ageOfChild (the kit's 'Age of child') runs from a junior bunk (1.6 m mattress, top deck lower, about 1.62 m tall) to a full single (1.9 m mattress, about 1.82 m tall). ladderPosition slides the ladder, and the gap in the front guard rail, along the front. guardRailHeight sets the rail's height above the top mattress (0.22 to 0.40 m). The param extremes were checked by reading the geometry limits, not by a capture. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings. Three come from the per-mesh materials and the deliberate flat shading (material count, duplicate materials, unindexed geometry). The fourth, sibling overlap, comes from the frame's bolts and rail lips, which are embedded on purpose. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.

About the Bunk bed 3D model

Bunk bed is a free low-poly 3D model from the Kids' Bedroom set. It measures 1.9 m × 1.7 m × 1.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,904 triangles across 24 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 154 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Bunk bed 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 154 KB: 1,904 triangles, 5,712 vertices and 24 materials, modelled in metres at 1.9 m × 1.7 m × 1.1 m.
Can I animate Bunk bed?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Bunk bed 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
