Blocks

A low-poly set of painted wooden toy building blocks mid-play: a tower of cubes under a coral roof block balanced on a sky-blue arch, a cone-topped turret and loose blocks scattered around. The cubes have bare-wood chamfered edges and raised circle, triangle, diamond and cross shapes.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Blocks for the Kids' Bedroom kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Kids' Bedroom kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Toys, bunk beds and a fort. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sky blue #2e67b8, sunshine yellow #eecd2b, coral #e2715a, white #f4f1ec, sky blue dark #1f457a, sunshine yellow dark #bda00f, sky blue light #6190d1, sunshine yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ageOfChild` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Age of child" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the set covers 0.62 m × 0.53 m and stands 0.40 m tall to the roof block's ridge. The blocks are 8 cm cubes. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 1,524 triangles in 16 meshes (merged per part and palette colour, flat normals baked) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. 6 of the 12 are used; warm white is the bare-wood chamfer on every cube. Params are baked at export, so the GLB is the default build. ageOfChild sets the block size, from 10 cm jumbo toddler blocks (0) to 6 cm blocks (1), and the whole set scales with it. towerLevels stacks 1–5 cubes on the arch. looseBlocks keeps 0–6 of the scattered pieces. scatter spreads them from 0.9× to 1.4× of the base layout. The loose_blocks part is omitted when looseBlocks is 0. The blocks carry raised shapes only, with no letters or numbers. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS); three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for this pipeline: per-part material instances (16 materials), non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, overlapping sibling boxes for the stacked tower cubes, and 'detached' on the roof block, which rests on the top tower cube in its own part.

About the Blocks 3D model

Blocks is a free low-poly 3D model from the Kids' Bedroom set. It measures 62 cm × 40 cm × 53 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,524 triangles across 16 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 121 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Blocks 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 121 KB: 1,524 triangles, 4,572 vertices and 16 materials, modelled in metres at 62 cm × 40 cm × 53 cm.
Can I animate Blocks?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Blocks 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
