Wind-up robot
A low-poly tin-style wind-up toy robot: a sky blue boxy body with a coral chest panel and a porthole gear, a dark visor face with round eyes, yellow ears, a coral antenna ball, pincer claws and a big yellow butterfly key in its back. It has a seamless 4 s loop: the arms swing, the head swivels, and the key and chest gear turn.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Wind-up robot for the Kids' Bedroom kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Kids' Bedroom kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Toys, bunk beds and a fort. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sky blue #2e67b8, sunshine yellow #eecd2b, coral #e2715a, white #f4f1ec, sky blue dark #1f457a, sunshine yellow dark #bda00f, sky blue light #6190d1, sunshine yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ageOfChild` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Age of child" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.26 m tall to the antenna ball (head top at 0.21 m), 0.13 m wide across the arms and about 0.12 m deep from toe caps to key; a tabletop tin toy at the default ageOfChild. The face looks +Z, the origin is at the bottom centre and the feet rest on y = 0. The exported model has 1,408 triangles in 28 meshes, merged per part and colour with flat normals (non-indexed). It uses 9 of the 12 kit colours (not sunshine yellow light, warm white or dark wood); every material is named exactly after its palette colour, and the exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. Motion: the baked clip scene-motion (4 s, seamless) moves five parts, each on its own hinge: the arms swing ±28° in opposition about the shoulder axle (x = ±0.056 m, y = 0.134 m), the head swivels ±22° about the neck axis (x = z = 0), the key makes one whole turn about its axle on the back (y = 0.105 m, along −Z) and the chest gear makes two turns in its porthole. The feet and body never move. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. ageOfChild (the kit's 'Age of child') goes from a bigger toddler toy (0.29 m) with a bigger head and a stub antenna (0) to a smaller 0.23 m robot with a slimmer head and tall antenna (1); armSwing, headSwivel and keyTurns only shape the motion. The extremes (ageOfChild 0 and 1 with 45° arm and head swing) were checked with three-check on a scratch copy and passed. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings (material count, duplicate materials per mesh, non-indexed flat geometry, nested sibling boxes, and scale against the direction's 1 m reference — the toy really is 0.26 m). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. Fix round 1 enlarged the key and turned the hero to azimuth 48° so the key shows, and dropped grey sole plates that read as loose slabs.
About the Wind-up robot 3D model
Wind-up robot is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Kids' Bedroom set. It measures 13 cm × 26 cm × 13 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,408 triangles across 28 meshes, with 8 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 144 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Wind-up robot 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 144 KB: 1,408 triangles, 4,224 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 13 cm × 26 cm × 13 cm.
- Is Wind-up robot animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Wind-up robot 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
